Question about online multis possibility?

    Hello, apologies if this has been asked before or if I'm posting in the wrong place, I'm new to all this - I was just wondering, would it be feasible to create a romhack of the gen 6 or 7 games that would allow players to do multi battles in the battle facilities with an online connection rather than having to do local connection? I always used to love doing multis with my friends but have since moved away from them and really miss doing so.
