Question / Request to the community.

I was reading a topic about binary hacking and how "dangerous" it is and while i was reading the person mentioned decompiled versions and that made me wonder.

"Why don't the community as a whole gather up and try to create the ultimate 2D (FR / LG type of graphics) or 3D-ish (HG / SS type of graphics) rom from scratch that can be playable in all devices?"
(Desktop Emulators, Mobile Emulators, Actual gameboy / advance / ds / 3ds and even other consoles)

I know that this might be a problematic idea because this will require coding skills (since we are talking about decompiled and then compiled thing BUT with all this passionate people i think we can manage to create something that is going to be OPEN SOURCE and FREE for everyone.

What this hacks will aim to do?
Like i said the "ULTIMATE" version of each game / art - style game.
For example my perfect versions are
2D FR / LG
3D-ish HG / SS

What are this "ULTIMATE" verions i am talkin about? Simply put recreate the whole gold/silver thing that you could travel from 1 region to another BUT with ALL the possible regions and pokemons. I know that this is a hellish work BUT if we manage to create this and have it as a base for everyone to use the whole community will level up and then a new and more enjoyable hacks will get released since everyone will have access FREELY to something pure and completely updated to 2023 mindset and with multiple implemented things that some people like some other don't but they will already have them.

What i mean is we can create a whole project based on a FR / LG rom BUT create EVERYTHING from 0 -> i don't know paldea or whatever the latest update is called and do the same thing with HG / SS.
Basically create the same exact product in 2 different game styles / art because some people like the pure 2D and some other the 3D-ish which i know is stupid but this is what the pokemon community needs from my point of view so we can upgrade as a whole and have a SOLID base which will be "bug-less" and we will not have to deal with binary hacking and stay "safe".

Please excuse my English and my sentences because English is not my main language but i hope that i was able to get the message through everyone and possibly intruiged some knowledgeable or not people. Generally wish everyone happy new year even 4 days late.

Present ROM hacks can certainly aim to capture everything and then deliver it as a GBA game, or a DS game, and that might satisfy, but a good handful of ROM hackers on PC tend to be more inspired to do their own thing and create a region of their own. And those can be played on any emulator.

But the ultimate base? That would require significant effort — which I wouldn't suggest is impossible, and while there's a payoff for players, those doing their own thing are probably only going to benefit from the Pokémon, and not the work on the region, so they don't stand to get much out of it (unless they want to expend the effort to add their own region instead, maybe.)

And for ROM hackers who just want Pokémon, there's plenty of options — bases, etc. — that they can integrate into their hack to get them.

The whole idea is to create something that will have everything in 1 place so if someone wants to take this "base" and create their own region as an addition or take parts of this base that are working 100% they will be free to do so.
I just download hacked roms from here and there but to be honest i always end up bored because either the game is too easy or too hard or even some times it's just the original with just model changes.
Don't get me wrong every creator wants to do different things like you said and i totally agree but if we take the "best" version of each art style for example i personally like more the FR / LF than Ruby, Sapphire or Emeral (Which is the newest releash of 3rd generation games.)
But they are not complete. I would love to get all of the games in to one and simply have a HUGE journey with everything included. Each region their own gyms, e4 and champion and why not when you beat everything in the game have an event that will be something like the last championship that ash won. But then again this is just me and i might be a single drop of water in the ocean.
