Hey, I'm new here and have a question.
Basically, I have played loads of the pokemon games and watched a few of the old episodes but I want to start watching some of the more recent stuff.
I don't really wanna go too far back so if anyone could gve me a good starting place that would be brilliant.
I live in the UK if that helps.
    Thanks alot

You may as well start at the first Diamond and Pearl episode "Following a Maiden's Voyage" since it's the first episode in Sinnoh.

Pokemon shows on Jetix and CITV in the UK, but it's currently going through Battle Dimension which is the series after Diamond and Pearl.

Jorah's advice is probably the best you can get without searching for episodes onlines, but if you want to jump in at a certain point of the newest series (i.e. those set in Sinnoh), then you can always read episode summaries on Bulbapedia.

Yeah, you could, that's the series before Diamond and Pearl so it wouldn't be too far behind. The Battle Frontier series (with the new opening and dubbers) starts with "Fear Factor Phoney". But Battle Frontier really starts in Advanced Battle in "The Right Place at the Right Mime" when they set off, and it'll have the old voices in so you'll notice a change when you get onto "Fear Factor Phoney".

Wow, I forgot how cheesy the puns were XD

Would I be able to start at Battle Fronteir ???

Starting at the beginning of the dub season Battle Frontier would mean you have 46 episodes of the Advanced Generation to watch, plus all the episodes set in Sinnoh (currently standing at 98 episodes in the dub, and 118 in Japan). That's a total of 144 episodes, which is an awful lot to try and catch up on. To be honest, you could probably just start off with Battle Dimension, the first episode of which is Tears for Fears! You can always use Bulbapedia to check the episode summaries if you're confused about any details.

I got it nnow, I'm gonna watch Battle Dimension because it's only on episode 15 on Jetix/
