Quick question-(CLONING)

    Is cloning with an AR considered legit? Because there are quite a few people doing it here and i was wondering if its against PC rules
     
    i hav a question to..... i know the ar code and stuff but were do u get the ar thing to use the code????

    no it isnt legit. anything using ar is against pc rules
     
    actually to my knowledge it's all good. otherwise most of the cloning services would have been down ages ago
     
    I've asked this question twice before already, and as far as Admins and Moderators go, it's fallen on deaf ears it seems. As I have said before, according to the rules currently in place, such a method is technically not allowed around here. It would be nice to get some kind of official response, and if they don't mind AR-cloning, have the rules changed to say so.
     
    If they let you clone via gts glitch, I don't see how they can turn you down cloning via AR. Glitch or memory reading, whats the differene?

    memory reading = flooding of pkmn
    Glitch= slow & steady supply
     
    well, if it bothers you that much just contact a mod and see what their opinion on the issue is. then post here again to inform us all

    not really bothered but it would be easier for a mod to just tell everyone on ana open thread rather than a private pm and if cloning w/ an AR is legit i'll be happily obtaining one and distributing shinys through the forums like twinkys to the homeless

    XD I agree with this statement.

    At any rate, this topic shouldn't be used to encourage such beliefs. This is strictly about rules, and as PC actually allows exploiting in-game glitches, cloning by that method is fine, in a pseudo-legal sense. The question is whether it is fine to use AR for the same function, or whether the technicality of the rules prohibits it.

    if people werent already cloning everything a million times each i would prolly be on your side but sadly its hard to find out whether a pkmn has been cloned lest you see the same one twice so why not have doubles for your self just like your trade partner so he doesn't end up with 2 rares and you w/ just one.

    Edit-I actually regret cloning my Sableye & Kyogre i worked super hard on the Kyogre and the sableye was the only shiny i ever caught and now most likely they'll be everywhere from here to china

    I've gone with a more conservative way of trading now. Seeing as most people are only trading clones, I don't trade anything that I would actually like to keep. My Pokémon are staying one-of-a-kind, and if people want to trade their clones to me, they'll be taking things I get off the GTS for it. Alex-brand legendaries are mine, and mine alone~

    *sigh* But yea, that kinda limits the kind of trades I can do...I just don't see much value in a Pokémon that has been cloned several times over, no matter how shiny it is. If you have more than one of a Pokémon to trade, you shouldn't expect to get the same value out of it. =/
     
    kinda like the TCG back-n-the-day i would never trade a card lest i had multiples i guess gts turned the the games into the card games

    The thing is, if you trade with someone who clones, what does the cloner lose? Nothing, he gains everything while you lose the one you traded. And after that he can clone yours and trade it off while keeping the original. In the end, it boils down to your own personal ethics.

    guess so but with current trading norm i'm prolly gonnah clone like everyone else so we both are at profit but i'm keeping specifics to my self (Shiny Egg Move Elekid...ect..ect)

    Yup, I have to stick to my ethics. I'm much too guilt-ridden to enjoy cloning for such petty benefits. -.- And so far, I have yet to trade any shiny or legendary that I caught myself, as those are the most valuable things to me.

    But yea, I think this discussion has veered off course a bit too much now. XD AR is the evil of today's topic. Isn't there any moderator or staff member who is willing to actually set things in stone for us? x_x I wouldn't mind all these Darkrai topics nearly as much if someone said it was fine to do it.

    I guess i'll clone what i didn't do my self and feel bad while i'm doing it but hey at least i didn't clone my Scizor

    ON Topic-    Yea where the heck is a mod when you need one quick somebody go ask for an arceus so we can bait em in lol
