Well, I moved into my new place in North Carolina the day before yesterday, and finally got internet installed yesterday afternoon. Not that it means I'll be on here any more often than before (except to monitor PM's and such) because of the whole "bored with Pokemon" thing that I'm hoping X/Y might alleviate (but I'm not holding my breath).

Anyways, my big complaint: Roach infestation (at least I hope these things are roaches and aren't something more serious, like bedbugs). Apparently the previous tenant was a slob or something, and let these things nest behind the refrigerator (not a good thing to have roaches in the same place you prepare your food...) I've been having to kill these things almost non-stop since moving in, and I feel I shouldn't have to - that the room should have been properly fumigated before I stepped foot in the unit. They had plenty of advance notice that I was moving in, so there's really no excuse.

The place is fine except for the bug problem. Though it's bigger than my old place, so it feels kinda bare. Maybe I should buy some cheap furniture somewhere, but then again that cuts into my anime convention budget...

AND YES THANK THE GODS MY NEW PLACE HAS AIR CONDITIONING!

Naturally, the night before moving in I stayed at a Quality Inn. It was actually my fourth time at this particular one, and the room was a definite step up from my previous stays - new bedding, light fixtures, and flat panel television. And no roaches in the hotel, which is more than I can say for my apartment...

Since nobody answered this in my last entry...

X/Y: PREORDER, OR NOT? (this is based on the combo of the "global release thing" and the "what Pokemon are exclusive to what version?" thing).

I'd preorder if it came with something nice, like a poster.

As for roaches, TELL THE LANDLORD ASAP before they say it was YOU and not the other guy. It is a health hazard and, at least in Canada, they need to deal with it. Not you. They have to meet certain standards for renting and can't go around renting bug-infested units.

If I preorder it's only going to be to ensure that I'll get a copy and it won't be sold out in stores.

The landlord is aware that it's the prior tenant's problem, I've had to contact her every other day to send maintenance up to my room. On the 4th an exterminator came in and sprayed all the edges and corners. And today the maintenance man came in to lay traps and set off one of those chemical bug-killing bombs to try to get rid of them.

These chemicals are wreaking havoc on my allergies, but I can't keep up with killing these things myself:/
