1st Gen R/B/Y Unevolved Pokemon Challenge

Well the monotype challenges are far too easy, so I have created my own challenge that I will be undertaking. The premise is to either get as far as possible, or defeat the Elite Four using only ONE Pokemon that you AREN'T allowed to evolve. Here are the rules for anyone else who would like to try.

Rules-

1. Only one Pokemon may be used. (Other pokemon are available strictly as HM slaves.)
2. Pokemon cannot be evolved.
3. Pokemon must be chosen by the time Misty is defeated.
4. NO CHEATING OR GLITCHING.

Some Pokemon that are available include but are not limited to:

Bulbasaur
Charmander
Squirtle
Pikachu
Pidgey
Rattata
Abra
Geoudude
Mankey
Jigglypuff
Clefairy
Zubat
Oddish
Bellsprout
Weedle
Caterpie
Paras

I have chosen Rattata.

I just did a variation of this on Fire Red. I used just a mankey/primeape and it was fairly easy. Evolving it helped though. :\

I'll give it a shot on Red then
with squirtle.

so you mean a pokemon only run on R/B/Y?

I figured that was too similar to the Fire Red run I just did so I switched to a normal monotype challenge instead. Sorry.

Hm, sounds like lots of fun! I'm busy taking the monotype challange, but when I'm finished I'd like to tackle this!

Some questions though:

1. How often should we update our progress?

2. May I request that Meowth be added to this list? In Blue I know you can catch him before defeating Misty, in the grass just above the Pokemon Day Care (What I mean is, can I go down there, catch him, and level him up to fight Misty, and use him as my main Pokemon?)

i've started sth like that some weeks ago, with a nidoran f in yellow. i'm before the ghost tower and my nidoran is lv.53. iirc it was easy up to this point
