3rd Gen R/S Team

- Swampert
- Swellow
- Gardevoir
- Wailmer (HM Slave)
- Tropius (HM Slave)

If you want to breeze through the game to get to the legis and pick up the important items in the game, that is the team to do it. Wailmer/Tropius learn all 8 HMs between them.

Swampert
Gardevoir

HM Slaves -
Pelliper
Zigzagoon
Nincada

All Pokemon you can get early in the game.
All HMs learnt by the bottom three.

It does go faster if you only train two - so there you are.

It doesn't matter who you use. As long as you train them to a decent level before battling gyms and trainers you will be fine. Also try and get decent coverage and resistances.

-Blaiziken
-Gardevoir/Alakazam
-Ludicolo
-Manetric
-Geodude/Marill (HM slave)
-Taillow/Nincada (Cut or Fly)

really? fillerfillerfillerfiller who only 2?

1. Don't put fillers.

2. If you only train two, your levels are MUCH higher, meaning you can breeze through the game. For example...

At the seventh gym - team of 6 has an average level of 35 if you didn't kill wild Pokemon.
A team of two has an average level of 45-50. :D

Two means you can also deal with double battles easily - Swampert (surf) moreso. I finished the game in record time with only those two.

Blaziken and two/three HM slaves.

It's possible to complete the game using only blaziken. (though kyogre is a nightmare. :()

Swampert is much easier than Blaziken, especially against Kyogre. STAB Earthquake hurts.

Does it work against grovyle? *takes note*

I was afraid to kill kyogre, so I kept using peck. >_<

I think I'll use net balls instead of ultra balls next time.

A lot easier than Blaziken works against Swampert. At any rate, given the fact that Swampert can learn Ice Beam and combine that with its great typing and stats, it is the hands down choice if you want to breeze through the game.

I personally prefer blaziken, but swampert is good for its better defenses, making up for its low speed.
Yes, but ice moves don't hit all grass types super-effective. Ludicolo is the exception. (abomasnow if you're playing D/P.) I'd prefer hidden power flying 70 to ice beam.

I meant, how did you defeat your rival's grovyle? (I can't trade TM ice beam... lost my link cable.)

You can buy Ice Beam TMs at the Mauville Casino......errrrrrrrr Game Corner.

I defeat my rival with Swellow. Ludicolo goes down easy with Earthquake as well.

I found out: oran berry + level 25 marshtomp + bide. Easy.

You can also find TM ice beam in the abandoned ship, yes?

this is my team ill let u copy

Blaziken
Minun
Aggron
Tropius
Pelliper
*a psychic type with good moves*

That team is recommended for good players who have gone through the *ehem* "E4" at least once or twice(if u want a challange.)

You have already said you had a Blaziken, so I'm only going to guess that you know how to use it correctly. If you don't then take advantage of it's (kind of) high attack. Blaziken learns Sky Uppercut at level fifty-nine (I think?), but you also have Blaze Kick which is another amazing attack to have in your arsenal. For your other Pokemon, I would suggest having just three to a team, so you only need two Pokemon since you have that Blaziken. Swellow is an amazing choice to have on your team because of it's amazing speed and high attack. Ludicolo is also a decision, but it's also weak to flying Pokemon, but covers your Blaziken's weakness of water Pokemon.

Your team, Blaziken, Swellow, and Ludicolo, will cover alot of the games aspects and will be extremely good at a high level. Here I'm going to list a few movesets which can come in handy throughout the in-game opponents.

Blaziken is a very good Pokemon in R/S/E who can also learn amazing attacks to cover it's weakness'. Thunderpunch can not only take out flying and water Pokemon, but with high attack, it can be deadly to any Pokemon with neutral damage. Sky Uppercut and Blaze Kick are also choices because they are both STAB moves with high attack damage. Swords Dance for the obvious - To strengthen your Blaziken's attack.

Swellow is a fast, powerful ally to have on a team. Take advantage of it's speed. With that only it can take out defensive opponents such as Slaking and others. STAB Return on a Swellow is amazing, but you should only use it if your Swellow is extremely happy with you. Endeavor and Quick Attack is an extremely good combination - You use Endeavor when your low on health. Your next attack turn you use Quick Attack to get rid of the foe. STAB Aerial Ace for the obvious quick, flying move to take out your opponent.

Last, but not least is Ludicolo. Ludicolo is a Grass/Water hybrid Pokemon which can also cover it's weakness' - Take advantage of this also. Use Fake Out (Lombre, Ludicolo's pre-evolution, learns this at level nineteen.) to get quick damage on your opponent early in the game for damage and flinch. STAB Surf or STAB Giga Drain is also a choice here; Surf for the big damage or Giga Drain for some damage plus some health regeneration. You could then have Ice Beam to cover your Flying weakness and to take out other grass threats.

Have fun and sorry for the long read. :)

Swampert is the best of the starters, as it can handle nearly all of the early Gyms and gets a sexy STAB Earthquake. Alakazam is also excellent, since its STAB Psychic runs through most of the Elite 4 by itself, and Confusion/Psybeam sweeps earlier in the game nicely. I currently enjoy using Machop, since its pretty bulky, but Medicham is a lot stronger. Also consider Swellow and Camerupt, who are staples on most RSE ingame teams.

Sceptile is also good on a one-Pokémon team.

If you have your treecko evolve once before Roxanne and next before Firey Path, you should have no problems.

Make sure to defeat every trainer and wild Pokémon possible. =]

Screech and pound make a great combination early in-game. Later, dragon claw can replace pound and false swipe overwrites screech. (for in-game legends.) Leaf blade is an excellent STAB move to use against Wattson. (It more or less 3HKOs his magneton.) Fury cutter takes care of grasses and annoying dark Pokémon.

Everyone here is so serious, but I'd reccomend a Castform, because they're funny! How could anyone say no to a Castform? Have they not SEEN them? They're so cute! And entertaining!
Also, Kelceons are good, just because a lot of types have resistance to their own. For example, I was battling a Kelceon with my Gloom, who currently only knows Acid to attack (I'm being lazy, and I love Sleep Powder). Anyway, this Kelceon attacks me, so naturally, I hose it down with bubbly purple liquid. The - oh no! It's Poison, and I'm having trouble attacking it. Learn from my mistake! Get thyself a Kelceon! (If you like.)
And I might just add, Seviper's Shed Skin is so useful. So, so useful.
