So I don't know where to put this so I'm just going to put this here. I conducted a little experiment with Ivysaur, Charmeleon and Wartortle friend safari. My original objective was to just capture them in love balls so I can pass them down to the babies. While I was at it I said "Eh, I'm just going to go for females with HA while I'm at it."

So while I was catching all 3 Kanto starters. I came across this. First attempt on Wartortle immediately gave me Rain Dish. So I tried Charmeleon. 7 attempts and finally a female Charmeleon with Solar Power. Now the most annoying one of all. Since I know that Chlorophyll doesn't activate on sunlight like it would on Solar Power. So knowing that I can't really tell if the female Ivysaurs have Chlorophyll, I had to capture them. I've caught about 30 of them and long behold. No Chlorophyll. All Overgrows. So is this telling me that Chlorophyll is more rare the both Rain Dish and Solar Power combined?

I think it's one of two things: 1) your luck is bad or 2) whoever has that Ivysaur Safari is not online while you are.

    Probably the second one.

That could be the reason, but my friend has only 2 Pokemons in there. The other rest has 3 which makes me wonder if it varies on the number of Pokemons or what. I'm probably going to find a new friend who has it too so I can see if it makes any difference.

Number of Pokemon has nothing to do with it. only the two factors that I mentioned affect it.

Ok, I kind of get it now. Does it matter if I'm offline and my friend is online? Like my in-game wifi is off, but my friend is online cuz I see them on in my friend list when I close out my Pokemon Y.

actually the 3rd pokemon is the key unless the person has beaten the game (unlocking the third pokemon and the hidden abilities for all of them)AND you have been on at the same time after they have beaten it(not sure if meeting them before they beat the game will count or not)you will in theory never catch one with its ha so:

    3rd poke+online meet=HA pokemon anytime

at least that's my understanding from reading and experience

TIP: Put a pokemon with trace and a smoke ball in the front of your party it will tell you the other pokemons ability and smokeball is a guaranteed escape popular pokemon is ralts

Ah, ok. Thanks. Now it makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the tip as well. Now I finally can do something without catching it and wasting my Pokeballs. Thanks.
