I really like the second one's border too! I think it's much better made and it looks as though the Houndoom is walking out of the mist.

I love the second one the Houndoom looks awsome and dark so I like that one the best.

maybe try a new kind of header, not just that kind of border. Try smooth, tech, abstract, anything... but this type of header is just extremely easy to do.
