well, after the last time my team was up here, I decided it was probably best to improve. lthough they were already very good, there was always teh chance that someone with a better strategy might ocvme by. So I read teh Trainer's guide, and used the advice given to use what I had in modifying my team. I'm going to put as much info as possible on each pokemon in order to aid with the review.

I also would like to inform you that even though this team is quite adequate under normal Circumstances, they just can't cut it in Tower Colloseum under Battle Mode. SO I'm currently developing a completely new team built to annoy that hopefully will be up for the job. As soon as I get them the desired moves and they all reach level 100, I will post them up here as well.

Much better now... only Manectric still commits the 2-attack-of-same-type mistake...

Swampert- something got chaos with the attack power... it's severely lacking attack EVs. Actually this Swampert is either not even fully EV trained, or it's EV are all 1s... its stats so low that you might want to consider buying a lottery ticket right now as you got some of the lowest IVs possible. Moveset is fine though. Never use 1.1 booster items like mystic water, charcoal or miracle seed. Use leftovers instead.

Since this is from trade, the previous owner screwed this up in terms of EV beyond believe... when you get FRLG, breed it with Ditto and raise your own Mudkip (if Swampert is male, all 4 moves but earthquake should carry over, and you can learn earthquake again eventually) Also, that maybe a good way to get rid of the ugly modest nature (for a Swampert it's not the best nature possible.)

Sceptile- once again, the previous owner screwed up in EV again. Use leech seed instead of toxic to help with healing along with leftovers (and leech seed is much better than toxic). Double team is way too long of a setup, so dump it for protect. Detect has too little PP and it's the same as protect, so ditch that for crunch or dragon claw. When FRLG comes out, get substitute instead of protect. Get timid nature instead if you can.

Blaziken- atk and speed could have been a lot higher (especially speed... with jolly and it's slower than breloom?) Change bulk up to earthquake if possible. Return can be rock slide as well. Use lum berry

Rayquaza- again it's something with EV as speed could have been a lot higher... this moveset will benefit much more with modest, and dumping all attack EV into sp.atk instead. Dump fly for extremespeed (don't be lazy... just withdraw a Taillow from PC if you need to fly...) Use lum berry.

Groudon- this is EXACTLY why I discourage solarbeam on Groudon. EV is messed for a solarbeaming Groudon. If Groudon is to solarbeam, it needs to max out its sp.atk as much as it can. Attack power without any EV is still 330 or somewhere nearby... Dump rest for another move, as Groudon goes down too easily.

Manectric- Speed and sp.atk needs to be a lot higher than that... either way

    Manectric- [speed + / atk -] @ lum berry
    EV: Speed and sp.atk max
    -crunch/bite
    -thunderwave
    -thunderbolt
    -quick attack

Frosty u sure about that moveset?:
    Manectric- [speed + / atk -] @ lum berry
    EV: Speed and sp.atk max
    -crunch/bite
    -thunderwave
    -thunderbolt
    -quick attack

Do u think that QA will do enough with this guy?
    Anyway u know best ^_^

    However i like
    Manectric[Same personality]
    EVs - Sp 256, SpAtt 256
    crunch
    thunder wave
    thunderbolt
    roar/HP grass

    hp:345 Sp. ATK: 215
    Attack:223 Sp. Def: 219
    Defense:207 Speed:176
Dude whats up with that stomp????

As for solarbeaming groudon take frostweavers advice he will be wasting great att + he is just so slow

    Take frosty's Sceptile
    Sceptile[timid]
    EVs - Sp 256, SpAtt 256
    substitute/protect[until u get FRLG]
    leaf blade
    leech seed
    crunch/dragon claw

well quick attack is very powerful! you really don't need much attack power to knock down those 1 hp reversaling Heracross do you? ;p The point of quick attack is just to finish off berry abusers/endure users/super weak Pokemon but they're still faster than you. Since he also made it clear that it's real game, HP is near impossible to get so no HP Grass/ice for his Manectric.

Well, good news is I now have females of all three starters, So I'll be breeding some new ones.

Bad news is I already used up all my good tms, all my pokemon are full so they can't take anymore vitamins, and I still don't really understand how EVs work. If you could describe those to me more elaborately, I might be able to avoid another screw up with the next Sceptile, Swampert, and BLaziken I raise.

(So did I learn from last time? ;))

U make a good point with the endure/reversal stuff frosty
well i didn't see u the last time so i wouldn't know if u improved ^_^ [and i don't care if u were addressing frosty i just felt like writing some more XD]

Go read frosty's advanced trainer guide - i should let u know the very basics of EVs

    PS i like the username - Pogiforce-14
    Pogi, lol

And another less detailed but possibly more easily understood version of EVs are somewhere in the RS FAQ.

    Ok...

Each Pokemon can get up to 510 points worth of EV points in total. For every 4 EV points in one category, that category of stats will increase by 1. Have 1, 2 or 3 EV points in a stat will have no effect, so you'll want numbers divisble by 4 in each category of stats in order to fully use EV to its best advantage. Each category of stats can have up to 255 (but just make it up to 252 max, as 255 means wasting 3 EV points), which totals to 63 worth of stat boost in one category! However, since there's a limited amount of EV points you can earn, you must choose very preciously just how you want to distribute these bonus stats.

It's recommanded that you try to raise your Pokemon up to lvl 100 before that Pokemon go into a single battle. Have a lot of Linoones will dig out a lot of rare candy and other junk for you. Nuggets are also nice because they generate cash which you'll be needing soon.

Once you got your lvl 100 Pokemon who hasn't battle before (with the desired movesets), it's time to EV train. Go to an online website, such as Pokefor.tk, and look up places where you can get what EVs, and know which Pokemon to battle. Choose what stats you want to raise with EVs, and then go out there and battle those Pokemon for the EVs you want.

Equip the macho brace as you EV train, as Macho Brace will double the EV points you earn in battle (ex: Zubat normally gives 1 speed EV, but with the brace you get 2 EV from Zubat instead!). Pokerus is also something that helps with EV training, as it also doubles your EV stat growth. Having Macho Brace and Pokerus together means that you get quadriple the normal amount of EV you get in one battle.

There are also the vitamins which can help you. One vitamin is equilvalent to supplying 10 EV points to one stat (one protein = 10 EV points in strenght, for example). A Pokemon can only have a certain number of vitamins though. However, vitamins really speed up EV training.

Sadly, there's no way to check how many EVs you got in one stat. However, you will know that a Pokemon has earned 510 points of EV stats when it received the effort ribbon.

When the EV trained Pokemon got the EV ribbon, it means that you're finally done EV training. Now deposit that Pokemon into your PC, and just let it sit there while you go EV train another Pokemon. Withdraw the EV trained Pokemon after you finish EV training the next one. You'll realize that the stats will go up because EV is taking into effect.

Even though Rare candy is used, it is by no way "easier" than "normal training" but in fact even harder and takes even more time. Now you have to choose enemies, instead of fighting everything you see. This may mean that you'll have to run from battles an awful lot of times before you can finally find something with the correct EV you want.

And it is bcuz of all that stuff that all the teams i post are usually "dream teams" as i hate having to do all that however once u do it u feel really good about urself ^_^
    How about this Blaziken
    Blaziken[Jolly]
    EVs - Sp 256, Att 256
    overheat
    rockslide
    brick break
    quick attack

I know u may have seen it a few times but i have never saw a comment on it so please go ahead -

that Blaziken will work just fine... quick attack is a bit rare on Blaziken, because a lot of other Pokemon can use quick attack, and Blaziken has too much moves to choose from too. Some teams can easily use another Pokemon as the quick attacker, thus freeing up more slots for Blaziken.

Teams with Tyranitar does not need a quick attacker, because sandstream will knock out those 1 hp Pokemon automatically.

I went to pokefor.tk and printed out as much data as I could, including the Nature effects, what pokemon provide what evs, and the best place to get evs for a certain stat. I've already got me a new mudkip (female). According to my printouts, it's timid nature will help me get it the speed I want. Hopefully when this Mudkip reaches the level of it's predecessor, it will be even stronger than my current Swampert.
edit; I just remembered: I have an endless supply of Tms! You can get all teh tms on Colloseum too, and then when that is done, I just start another file. So as long as I play Colloseum, I'lll never run out of tms. There's hope for me yet! :D

Actually, colosseum has barely any TMS at all.And you call yourself a pokemon expert, frostweaver!!XD

Well, once again, I'll do the entire team, except I'll add an aditional moveset.XD

    Blaziken
    Adamant nature
    Item:White herb
    Rock slide
    Brick break
    Earthquake
    Overheat

    Self-explanitory.XD

    OR:

    Blaziken
    Jolly nature
    Item: Leftovers
    Quick attack
    Endure
    Reversal
    Flamethrower

    QAer AND Reversaler!! Wow!!XD

    Next:

    Sceptile:
    Timid nature
    Item: Leftovers
    Leaf blade
    Leech seed
    Substitute
    Dragon claw

    Evil at its best...

    OR:

    Sceptile
    Timid nature
    Item:Leftovers
    Toxic
    Crunch
    Leech seed
    Protect

He would be the Evilest staller in the universe if I didn't choose protect instead of Substitute.XD

    I'll do the rest later.

    in terms of buying the TMs, there aren't much at all. However, in Pogiforce-14's case, he can start another col. game file and it pretty much gets almost all useful TMs covered. It's really only missing overheat, aerial ace, facade and calm mind if you try to get TMs that way. I mean... who cares about bullet seed missing in Col's TM list >>;

However, there's something else useful in Colo that everybody forgets: The pokemon themselves!!XD

I mean, even though in-game you still can't get a BPing umbreon, you can get a cool staller!! I know!! Here are some movesets for espeon and umbreon to replace the 00bers(Note: I'm a bit rusty on which moves some pokemon can learn.):

    Espeon
    Modest nature
    Item:Leftovers
Reflect(For defense, or can Espeon only learn barrier??XD)
    Psychic
    Calm mind(Can't he learn this??XD)
    Morning sun

Reflect takes care of Espeon's horrible defense, while Calm mind is to boost psychic, while morning sun is there to heal.XD

    Umbreon
    Careful nature
    Item: Leftovers
    Double team
    Faint attack
    Confuse ray
    Moonlight

    That's my Umbreon's moveset. Ain't he annoying??XD

Espeon- it's always known about it already... and it's UU. It doesn't have the sweepage speed, and it got quite a terrible movepool as well.

Umbreon- faint attack? O.o; it can't hurt anything even if it's Gengar. Plus a simple toxic ends your Umbreon... Umbreon is always known for stalling ability already, and it's only because of its stalling ability can it baton pass sometimes. In fact, most Umbreon stalls with mean look+toxic.

It may not have overheat, but I'mjust not an overheat user anyway. Anything esle I make use of is in the Colloseum game. All I have to do si trade them over (including Dragon Claw, my most precious tm) I hven't used any tms yet in Colloseum, so all the available tms i can trade over and make maximum use of.

Faint attack-it was the best I could come up with, okay??XD

Hmm...well, what do you think would be a good moveset for a QAing umbreon?? Of course, he'd only be a last resort if a Reversaling blaziken was crushing your team.XD

    err... Umbreon has plenty of stuff to do... there's plenty of other QAer out there o.o;

    Umbreon- [defensive + / atk or sp.atk-] @ leftovers
    EV: defensive
    -mean look
    -toxic/confuse ray
    -rest
    -confuse ray/screech

    Curseon- [atk + / sp.atk -] @ leftovers
    EV: Atk and defensive
    -shadowball/return
    -curse
    -HP physical
    -rest

*note: a GSC set carried over to RS usually doesn't work that well anymore... however, you can always use Umbreon as a source of curse and pass it on.
