So get rid of fly? But then I can't get all over. Noctowl is about the only flying type I like. I understand though, i asked for ppls opinions so...

Sweet Christ, I posted a Rate My Noctowl thread too. So I'll help.

Here's how I have my Noctowl

    Noctowl-Light Clay
    Nature: Calm/Modest
    Reflect
    Hypnosis
    Air Slash/Night Shade
    Whirlwind
    EVs in Speed & Sp.Def

Noctowl is no direct battler. So it could instead support the team with Reflect. Whirlwind could force switches, and as they switch, put them to sleep with Hypnosis. If you have Spikes/Toxic Spikes/Stealth Rock, support, you could cause Whirlwind damage. Air Slash /Night Shade for an attack move.

EDIT: I took too long typing. This is mostly for Wi-fi.
Teach another flying-type fly to get around Sinnoh.

Well I actually have this noctowl, and it has saved me as a direct battler in MANY situations. So he really isn't support.

Do you mean Ingame? On Wi-fi, Noctowl's pitiful defence WILL cost you the match. Ingame, just about any set would work.

EDIT: Sorry if I came off gruff, but Noctowl is my favorite bird-pokemon. I get a bit touchy about her. I named mine Olren.

what if I EV trained him in defense? I've done some EV training in speed, but that's about it.

Sure, but remember that Reflect cuts damage IN HALF. So you don't need to invest too much in defence. Still, it is a great idea, seeing as Reflect would help more with decent defence.
