Rate my team/ tips

My current team is Typhlosion, Ampharos, Gyarados, Pidgeot, Mamoswine, and Machamp. All are level 40-47 and I'm stuck in the Elite four currently training/trying to beat it. Any tips or suggested replacements?

We can help you better if you show us your pokemon's moves.

And really, all you have to do is level up some more. Get them all to level 47-50, and you'll do much better. Make sure Gyarados knows Ice Fang, to take care of Lance's Dragonites.

Another tip: try to have a lot of variety in your attack types. For example, don't try to go for 4 Fire attacks on Typhlosion, or 4 Fighting moves on Machamp. That's not the way to do it. When choosing movesets for your pokemon, try to hit as many types for super-effective damage as possible.

Pidgeot is a rather bad pokemon to use. It's got bad stats all-around and not that great of a movepool. The moveset I've listed is probably the best you can use without breeding for certain moves. I highly recommend replacing it with a better Flying type. There are far better ones to chose from. If not, then just use the moves I listed.

Gyarados level 42
Ice fang
Earthquake
Waterfall
Dragon Dance

Standard Gyarados set. Dragon Dance is awesome here, as it can raise Gyarados's already high Atk stat. Earthquake destroys its electric weakness, and Ice Fang for Dragons. Surf doesn't work as well on Gyarados as it's a special move rather than physical.

Machamp level 43

Stone Edge/Rock Slide

Payback hits Machamp's Psychic weakness for super-effective damage. Earthquake is just a good power move. And Stone Edge and Rock Slide do decent damage to Machamp's Flying weakness as well. You'll have to chose between power or accuracy, however. Stone Edge is more powerful, but Rock Slide is more accurate.

There are seveal ways to do this. You could try breeding for a cyndaquil with Hidden Power Grass and raise that. Or you can use the SunnyBeam option. With Sunny Day, Solarbeam doesn't need a turn to charge and it hits all of Typhlosion's weaknesses. If PP is your issuse on Solar Beam, use a PP Max on it to bring it up to 8. Focus Blast is another option if you don't want to use the SunnyBeam combo. If you go with Focus Blast or Hidden Power Grass, use Eruption over Blast Burn, as that wasted turn recharging could hurt you.

Mamoswine level 45

Not a bad set here. I suggest you replace Fury Attack, though. However, I have little experience with Mamoswine, so I'm not sure which move is the best replacement here.

Ampharos level 47
Thunder Wave
Discharge
Signal beam
Power Gem

Discharge is decent enough option, but Thunderbolt is preffered as Bolt's more powerful. However, I guess you don't want to waste time in the game corner trying to get the coins for it. You don't need Flash, and Power Gem is a good replacement. Ampharos learns it naturally. Thunder Wave can slow down a lot of opponents to give you that edge.

That's about it. I tried to give you the best options to use without breeding for other moves, as I assume you don't breed much, if at all.

I suggest you catch lugia to replace pidgeot as it can fly and it learns extrasensory, a psychic type move that can help deal with bruno's fighting types.
