lately, there have been way too many n00bs around here. reviving really old threads (go to the hacking section) and just asking and posting stupid stuff. i think PC should make a validation forum to where you can't go anywhere else in PC except that and like in the rulz say that while in the validation forum make a new thread called ***** and put in it ***** and then whoever actually read the rulz could get validated and go to the rest of PC. (idea from sonic-cult.)

That a nice Idea. Do you by mean when you go to PC there is a page that shows the rules then a link to the site?

If you see people doing that often, simply report it and a moderator will both deal with the thread and warn the offending member.

We don't want to turn away members, and I know that if I were first joining PC and I was confined to a single forum until I did some sort of validation practise, I likely wouldn't even bother. o_o; We don't want to discourage people from joining and posting.

Having a validating on all the forum would be dumb. Just report the user and post. In the ROM Hacking forum, yes we know many noobs not newbies browse through there, but bare with them. We will automaitcally close any specific thread that does not meet that forum's rules as well as PC's rules.

there is nothing wrong with reviving older threads if the poster has something to add or a question about it.. I'd rather they use an existing thread then start a new one.

This isn't really a valid topic. Sadly, that is the way life goes. Yes, some people can be ignorant, but they shouldn't be turned away. Instead we can all do our part and help the new people to get to know the rules of PC better. Certainly, no member should be turned away, why there would be no PC without members!

PPN is right but if the thread is revived just to bump the thread so that more poeple can see it then it's considered spaming without any actual valid reason to why it had to be revived.

omg, i just realized EVERYONE on forums act the EXACT same. it gets annoying. if a moderator says like they dont like this then everyone agrees with them. why can't everyone just act themselves instead of trying to act like they know everything? it was just a suggestion but look how many members there are now! if you do put that register thing on then all the new users will have to read the rules then they can join but the forum will not die because of all the people already here. BTW, wuts the point in posting the exact same thing that the person above you said? dont do it, it makes you look like a a** kisser.

you sure have an attitude little boy0_o I dont kiss donkeys either...

Just because people agree with one another doesn't mean it's not their opinion. And that's also a warning against you, no more swearing.

Seriously all, this topic does not even serve a valid purpose. With an attitude like that, it is no wonder that many members are leaving and feeling unwelcome. Now, I'm for rules and all that, but if you wanted us to take you seriously, use correct grammar/syntax/spelling. :P

Okay, this is quickly escalating into something we don't need right now, not to mention the fact that you guys are off the original topic. Do any of you recall the saying "if you can't say anything nice don't say it at all?" >>

*nods* I do get annoyed to a small extent when people do that. I would have no problem with it if the person had something to add to what was said instead of just saying "Yes, just do what (insert name) said."

Might I ask the point in this reply? O_o You just repeated exactly what Erica said, which is spam in all retrospects.

And to stay on-topic, I really couldn't see that idea working. One can read the rules and break them or not read the rules and never break them. Just give them a bad rep, it usually gets the message across.
