Recruitment: Mew project

    Hey everyone!
I'm recruiting for a narrative-driven ROM hack called Project Mew, based on Pokémon LeafGreen v1.0. The hack explores an alternate version of Kanto that was never meant to exist, full of strange paths, hidden lore, and broken logic. It's not a horror hack. It's a story… one that glitched into being.

What Ideas are in the table?

    Leaf is the protagonist

    • All Pokémon are obtainable (no version exclusives or trade evolutions)
    • Unique methods for getting the Kanto starters (inspired by Pokémon Yellow)
    • Both fossils and Hitmons can be acquired
    • Mew and Mewtwo have secret, postgame events
    • Red has been defeated by May (from Hoenn), and you face her in a secret location
    • After May, you receive an empty Poké Ball— it unlocks:
      • A shiny starter from Red
      • A glitched battle against Le/Af, an alternate version of Leaf
I'm also considering a secret region called Nexaria — a corrupted, broken world only accessible through the empty Poké Ball, where Le/Af could be faced in an even darker setting.

Note: The current ROM is incomplete — events are implemented but not functional. This is more of an Idea that I tried to create but I couldnt.

    Fixed Lore Elements
Some core story elements are not up for change, as they define the heart of the project:

    • Mew and Mewtwo's event structure
    • May defeating Red before you
    • The appearance of Le/Af as the final fight
Everything else is open for discussion and evolution.

    Roles Needed
I'm looking for creative and curious people or even if you want to try and practice your skills— no pro experience needed!
This is a passion project with no deadlines. As I have no experience in any kind of programation I want a team that also wants to learn during the process.

    I'm searching:

    • Programmers / Event Scripters (FireRed/LeafGreen or decomp)
    • Pixel Artists (trainers, overworlds, glitch visuals)
    • Co-writers (dialogues, eerie NPCs, item descriptions)
    • Testers (especially those who love secrets and I will also be one)
    • Optional: musicians interested in ambient/glitchcore sounds

    What I Offer

    • A full narrative structure already planned
    • Glitch-themed lore
    • Credit for all contributors
    • Full creative freedom within a stable lore frame
    • A chill, respectful team environment where we all help each other
