hey everyone
discordia has decided to not create four channels to host the teams. after a brief discussion, we've agreed that the best solution would be to create a separate, temporary Discord server to host the get-together houses and voice channels. we had two main reasons for this:
a) PC Discord has quite a few channels already and four more would make the sidebar quite a mess.
b) PC Discord is run by the moderoids, but there's no reason for them to have power over the GT - any GT channels should be managed by the GT management team.
as such, I have created a new server. click the link to join https://discord.gg/TaDrBEy. don't invite anyone yet though - this server will remain private (though maybe we could let the EOs in earlier) until the start of the GT.
some things to note:
there's a role and channel for each house, as well as three other groups:
- Management Team - has permission to give roles, edit channels, kick and ban users (hopefully won't be needed), and see all house channels. Can access the #management-tent channel.
- Event Organizer - no special permissions, but can access the #event-organizers channel. Should be useful if they need to do some last-minute planning before or during the GT.
- HQ - no special permissions, but grants access to #event-organizers and #management-tent.
i'm currently getting the colours and everything set up.
