Regarding un-nicknamed pokemons

I don't know if I am on the right section but I think this question applies to all pokemon games of all generation. I have a question regarding un-nicknamed pokemons, if I traded my un-nicknamed pokemon to a different person, can he/she nickname that pokemon in his/her game? Or do I really need to nickname the pokemon in MY game?

Yeah, you'll have to nickname the Pokemon in your game. If you didn't nickname it and you trade it, they'll be stuck without a nickname. It's annoying, I know. :c

Really? I figured you could nickname it using the Nickname guy dude o.o..Oh well, its a small price to pay for that 1.5x Exp and most likely an awesome Pokemon ;P.
