Hmm, I like the first one. Although I don't get what it's supposed to be. o_O Good job though.

thanks ^^ i like the second one better, too. the Remain on it seemed a little out of place. and didn't fit the banner style very well.

it's not supposed to be anything; it's abstract.
Thank you Captain Obvious, but most abstract pieces have something, anything that looks somewhat recognizable. o_O;; I think what I'm trying to say is that it's too white in some places. It's a good piece, just, idk, something about it irks me. AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT!

try asking the veteran designers -.- i tried to say what you said a while back, and i was completely proved wrong. look at every render i've ever done- the point is to make it obscure, abstract. i do make things that seem "somewhat recognizeable." look at my tech banners. this is an abstract render, people put familiar shapes in different kinds of banners. look at this- (done by someone at PE2K) *image removed* that's a great abstract banner; see anything "somewhat recognizeable" in that? Also... get better than me, then tell me what my banners are 'supposed' to look like. i've been doing this for a long time, and no one's said that these weren't abstract.

Why are you getting so ticked off about it? You post a thread asking for comments and I gave them. Contrary to what my banners look like, I'm not a n00b as much as you wish to think me. As to the banner, I see shapes, triangles, diamonds, etc. With yours, I see... nothing, except maybe a couple of square shapes towards the right of the banner. Seeing as how I've only been here a short while, I haven't seen many of your "tech banners", so I can't really comment on them. I never ever said they weren't abstract, I only said that they

    I too have been banner designing for a bit (though those banners I posted doesn't look like it), and I do have a sound knowledge of Photoshop. Next time, when you post a thread, specify what type of comments you want to get. Otherwise, don't complain when my comment isn't "OMG that's so gr8 ur such a gr8 banner designer!!!". I see you have talent in banner making, I won't deny that, however, you are not the god of Photoshop. I don't need to "get better than you" to point out something in your banner than may not make sense or may not look like. Oftentimes the less experienced can see things the supposedly "veteran" designers overlooked. I thought all graphic designers knew that - Take comments into consideration and not say "Oh you're wrong because you're less experienced haha n00b." -_-;;

I prefer the 2nd one, but mainly because vertical text freaks me out. Good usage of lighting.

Somehow I find that... the usage of your first sentence wasn't exactly the most polite way you could have put it. However, you do have a point there.

Hmm because you were completely proved wrong by the other members of the community, does it mean that abstract art meaning anything is totally wrong? True, obsecurity is one form of art but... your work does get confusing, in that your choice of words seems to be mostly random.
Choice of sample was a little off, because in your sample, the tech details and text fit the interior. The impression is "harsh and metallic". Title of sig indicates "Cyborg", or metal. Text on sig indicates "death". Meaning is clear from the sig. However, in your art, most of the meaning is totally open to interpration.

    [random]O_O You see squares? I don't...[/random]
There is no reason for anyone to ignore comments from people who appear to be "n00bs". But... you also appear to be getting rather "ticked off" as well? This is defencive, isn't it? I believe the reason for "ACManga" to be ticked off is an identical reason.
Usage of the term "God of Photoshop" is strangely ironic. I applaud your choice of words, even if you didn't understand the implications at the time of posting.
The point you bring up is very true. But... although I feel I shouldn't exactly be saying this, most people tend not to respect people who do not show their own works. It takes time for a person to learn to respect another person, especially one who just shows up suddenly. Personally, I would advise you to put a sig and avatar in place. I understand they are down for mantainence? But you can use a previous set in the meantime.

Please end all public arguements here. If you really want to attack each other, please do so via PM or IM. Thank you very much.

I assure you, if I was ticked... You would see a bunch of little *'s and such. As to using an older set, no. Why? Mainly because I want my signature to be small and clean. Your sig itself is very... "large" and takes up almost a whole screen in an 800x600 resolution. =)

By the way, since you guys know everything possible there is to know about Photoshop and won't listen to a "n00b's" opinions anyways, I'll just get my "n00bish" self out of here after my next comment who was clearly "proved completely wrong" about "abstract art".

Also, I point to the comment I bolded from your post. Anyone's... "art" is open to interpretation. As stated earlier, not everyone has the same view on the piece. Next time, if all he wants is "Wow, your banner is gr8, wish I could do that! *insert 50 XD's here*" or "Wow, that's so gr8 dude, except for this little bit right here, but it's not a noticeable flaw or anything major! *insert 20 XD's here*", then he should say so instead of showcasing his piece and getting defensive when I commented on it from my point of view. What was that you said? Yes, my point of view.

I don't really care about respect from the graphics people, considering there's very few I would actually respect because of their art (well, maybe one, but that's it), mostly due to the fact that your arrogance and confidence in your abilities makes you think "Well... yeah, I can post this piece and have tons of people say 'OMG it's so good!' *insert ___ amount of XD's/=3's/xD's here*".

Now, onto the topic (the original one that is) - The banner. Since you won't listen to this anyway I'm probably wasting time and energy but oh well. The middle section (with the mostly solid block of white, towards the right of the piece) needs a texture, something to make it stand out. Right now it's just sitting there. It needs a dark brushing or texture or something. But hey what do I know right, I'm just a "n00b".

you're not a n00b, you're a newb. people don't take opinions from people who aren't better than them, because of this: "What would you know?" it's pretty much a law... sadly. i'll listen to you if you beat me in a PS Battle... *hinthint*

ac you should still listen to him it doesn't matter if they are better or not just cause i have a huge site that gets 150 unique hits a day i still listen to smaller sites people still know what looks good and doesn't

well, scolari... as i said in the PM she sent me, i never said that what people believe is correct and fair. by making recognizeable shapes, i'm altering my style, which i'd rather not do.

you did? i didn't see that... sorry, then, Nic. (feels a little weird sucking up to one of my best friends >_>)
