    what the heck were they for? it always drove me crazy(no pun intended=) not knowing what they were there for...when i was 9 i heard it was to get mew if you used cut a hundred times haha
     
    In Generation I, a truck appears as scenery in the S.S. Anne's port, though it is only visible if the player actively seeks it out. Due to the scarcity of scenery in the Generation I games, as they were on a less powerful system, rumors began to spring up about the availability of Mew through a Poké Ball that could be found underneath. Though the rumor has long since been proven false, the truck makes a reappearance in the Generation III remakes. This time, an item can be found-- a Lava Cookie, not available until later on in the game.

    Originally unusued scenery, retained possibly as a joke. There's nothing to it, really.


    As for the keys... I assume you mean the 'card key'; it only opens some places in the Silph Co. HQ, I think.
