2nd Gen Replacing the internal battery for the Gen II games

    Does anybody know how to go about doing this? My Silver died years ago and Gold just recently. I still have Crystal but that's probably on its way out. Is it something I'd be able to do myself with the right equipment?

    I figured a thread was appropriate since other people probably have dead games too and might be wondering the same thing.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. If this is the wrong board I apologize. I wasn't sure where the thread would go on the Technology board.

    I really wouldnt use a disposable camera though, I just used a regular soldering iron. If you go on google and type in "replace internal battery pokemon silver" there are plenty of pages with instruchtions on how to do it.

    I've never had a problem with a soldering iron, I didnt know how much people disliked them :(
    I guess there is nothing wrong with doing it without a soldering iron, but I've never tired it any other way so I didnt want to give advice about something I didnt have experience with myself. If it works for other people then why not go for it.
