Return of the Bug-Themed Team!

Wow, heck whoops. Thats what you get for only reading a few posts below yours >_<

I suppose backing up what other people say does give the OP confidence it what to edit in though ^_^;

Okay, so I need:

Gliscor
Flygon
Yanmega (Already had on the team to begin with)
Heracross
Scizor
Shuckle? (I'm really questioning this one. Poor HP negates its huge Defenses, IMO)

So, specifically, what sets should I run for each?

Please do it in this format:

Name@Item
Nature
EVs
Ability
-Move
-Move
-Move
-Move

Heracross I got down, and I hope the Yanmega I have is sufficient enough.

And I need some more opinions on Pokemon #6

Thing is, Shuckle might need some SS to be at it's optimum, which would be beneficial to Gliscor too. SS doesn't agree too well with Yanmega though. Now that I think about it this team is more offensively biased. >____> . In that case shuckle doesn't really sync. I'd say forget it for now. *IS STILL A MAJOR SHUCKLE FAN*

I H8Z SHUCKLE1!!!11! ALWAIZ GOIN "SHUCKLEUCKLEUCKLEUCKLEUCKLEUCKLEUCKLEUCKLE"

But yeah, I didn't see Shuck Norris fitting in either. I'll help with Flygon.

Flygon@Choice Scarf
Nature:Naive
Draco Meteor
U-Turn
Stone Edge/ThunderPunch
Earthquake
EV:252 Atk, 120 SpA, 136 Spe

If you're wondering, the astronomical amount of sp.atk EV's is for the OHKO-ification of Salamence.

If you're going to use Shuckie, I would give it 252 HP.

I would consider making Hera either FlameGUts or RestTalk for a status absorber.

What? Of course not! It needs minimun HP in order to survive EVERY HIT, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Of course it needs max HP, you think Dunsparce is an idiot?
But a status absorber wouldn't hurt.

No, I was going to max out both Defenses, because we all know that with Shuckle's SUPER AMAZING BASE HP it can survive through alot of Seismic Tosses without much trouble. ;/

Okay, I still need sets for Scizor and Gliscor, and am still not 100% sure of using Shuckle.

Gliscor @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 244 HP/48 Def/216 Spd
Impish Nature (-SpAtk + Def)
Earthquake
Fire Fang
Stealth Rock/Knock Off
Roost

Standard. Outspeeds Adamant Lucario, counters Scizor 75% of the time and does other stuff most Gliscors can/did.

How is Gliscor a bug themed pokemon exactly ?
Its a Bat...thing :S
Anyhowwwww, Im assuming this is on shoddy ? if so.

Scizor @Life orb/Leftovers
Ability: Tecnican
Evs 252Atk 252speed 6Hp
Adamant Nature (-spATK +Atk)
Swords dance
Bullet punch
Roost
X Scissor

If you DO use this set take my advice use something that can set up SR on the first turn, so then after 1/2 SD's Scizor can pretty much sweep anything.

As for pokemon number 6....Maybe Ninjask ?
It would help Scizor heracross and flygon

Ninjash @ Leftovers
Ability: speed boost
Ev's 252speed 252atk 6Hp
Jolly Nature (-spAtk +Speed
Sub
Protect
X Scissor
Roost/Swords dance

as a side note Surskit FTW :D

Gliscor is not only part of the Bug-Breeding group, like Flygon, but is a Flying SCORPION, just like Gligar. don't let its vampiric appearence fool you.

I'm not sure about Ninjask. Priority Moves Rape it easily befoer it can Sub up.

Not to mention SR... I already have Yanmega to worry about getting in.

This is why I don't respect you, Dunsparce. Shuckle OBVIOUSLY needs max Atk & Speed, in order to become the GREATEST SWEEPER EVAR. What kind of hopeless noob uses anything else? Adamant, with Dig, Sludge Bawmb, Acient Power, & Bug Bite for ultimite stab.

But in all serious...ness...I can't give specific sets, as theme tteams are not myu for'te, but I can only advise not to use Shuckle, as that drastically changes the pace of this team --hard hitting offense.

LOL Cool Never realised that XD

I know tis Weak =/
But when you look at this team it could do with Extra speed, and Jask is the only BPer I could think of. unless you want to try a BP Gliscor ?

I'll think of something else later ;]

Stop the shuckle hate... and absurd movesets and ev spreads..

I'd like to say Adamant Lucario doesn't exist anymore but "almost extinct" is more precise.

Anyway, I can't say my experience transcends into the "theme team" spectrum either. TBH if I was making a team like this I'd be more dependent on stall and defenses. (Dual Screen Forrey) or something like that, but I'm standing by my bud shuck being dead weight on an all out offenive bug team =/

You're the noob. Everyone nows Shuckle works best with the Defense Curl/Rollout Combo. Use those over Dig and Bug Bite with Jolly nature U.U

btw, would Drapion have any Merit? I know it's UU, but I can't help but love the fact that it's one Weakness and Resistances make it stand out to the rest of the options for Pokemon #6

The rest of teh Options are mostly Bug/Poisons and Bug/Flyings :/

Hmm... What about Armaldo?

Well...Shuckle can't do anything back, especially since Heatran is immune to Toxic, and Shuckle has the offesnive abilities of a...Shuckle. God I hate Shuckle. But, if it can survive a Heatranattack, it could Encore it so flygon can revenge kill.
Not exactly. If Shuckle and fit in a Power Trick then the enemy is pretty much defenceless :/
Therefore I would recommend full EVs in Defence and Special Defense and the remnants into HP.
That would have your Defences sorted. Using Power trick (especially on a Heatran) would leave that Pokemon useless and yours buffed up and ready.

Do you even know how Power Trick Works?

It swaps the User's Attack and Defense. Shuckle's too slow to make it work, and it'll just make it die quicker, with it's new BASE 10 DEFENSE. And My team can't fit in a Trick Room, as most of theam is too fast to use it. Plus no Pokemon in the Insect Egg group can get TR to begin with :/

Oh how I wish this were true, not to mention that it would take a whole bunch of trick room jargon and planning to make the power trick strategy fail less, but I assure you it isn't something to be considered here. Idk about Armaldo (the real offensive shuckle), but at a glance it looks like it has a better chance of fitting than shuck.

I also asked if Drapion had any merit.

EQ weak is bad, though >.>;

I suppose it does...Gliscor can take physical hits and set SR. Drapion is setting your TS which sort relys on some stall...on an all out offensive team where there doesn't seem to be too much reliable recover. That's pretty much where I'm conflicted. </confused>
