    [RMXP] Pokemon Ancient Ruins

    Hey all, I can't really say much as this is basically only an Idea at this point. I only just got RPG Maker XP so I say that I have no experience. That said, it's a massive leap to be starting with a Pokemon game first up.

    I was playing Pokemon White (Old) earlier and was intrigued by the idea of an Academy, I am a fan of Legend of Zelda games and am thinking of putting 2 and 2 together. For all you LoZ fans out there you know In Ocarina of Time you run around in dungeons collecting magical stones and Medallions.

    Well, my Idea is this - You're starting out in your home town and you walk to the National Pokemon Academy - As you are now of the right age you attempt to be inducted into the Academy. In doing so however, you need to pass a test, this test is retrieving an Orb of Light from the statue in the mountains. As it's such a daring and dangerous task you are given a Pokemon (Piplup, Chimchar or Turtwig) to aid you. This is where your adventure begins...

    Well, I've never played the Zelda games before. But the idea appears to be unique.

    You should take that uniqueness and use it to your advantage. Maybe more of a zelda-themed tileset and music? Or possibly, take Zelda's battle system and combine with PokéMon's to make your own. o.o Or even make a custom one that could be like... an improved version of both. o.o
     
    Started on the Map for 'Myne City' (Starting Location) I'll post a screenshot as soon as it's finished.

    At the moment I'm just going to stick with Generation III (The ones already in the Pokemon Essentials Kit) tiles as it's probably easier. I may add Sinnoh tiles as I see fit though.
     
    Myne Village (Yes, not city. I changed it) map is almost complete. The academy is almost done, Players house and Rivals house is complete. Town's Pokemon Center is also complete.
     
    It seems as though you're beginning to come along. You should probably post a screenshot or something soon though... Usually it garners more attention. o.o
     
    It seems my files have been deleted (:() I'll have to start all over again.
