So im interested in playing some Rom hacks and I have no idea were to begin, so before I try on my own and royally screw up, i'd rather consult the experts. I have no interest in making only playing ROM hacks (I have tried game development and it just wasn't for me) So if its not to much to ask how can a beginner like me get int roms, what software should I use and how do you set it all up (again would probably mess something up if i did it on my own) Thanks!

It's very simple. You need an emulator, I'd recommend visualboyadvance. SImple google search.

Then you will likely need Lunar IPS patcher. What this does is take a patch and apply it to a rom. So for example, if you have a pokemon ruby rom and apply the patch, it will turn your pokemon ruby rom into the rom hack.

And then you need Roms. Again, simple google search.

The reason you need the Lunar IPS patch software is because on Pokecommunity, it's against the rules to put Roms up for download, but if you are able to find a rom of the rom hack you want to play, then all youd need to do is load the rom into Visualboy advance and play it.
