    Hey guys, I'm somewhat newish to running roms and am a bit confused as to why I have black dots on some of the roms I downloaded. They ARE all pokemon ones, if that's something I needed to add. Is there something I need to do?

    You probably got a ROM that was not patched properly, such as an English patch being used on a Japanese ROM. You are better off getting patches of ROM hacks, and applying them to vanilla ROMs. Check your computer for malware as you could have gotten a bogus patch with malware.
