    Hello everyone,

I am having a problem with a map on my ROM hack. This is a minor issue but I still want to know if anyone has found a solution to this/has had the same problem, or if i'm simply missing something.

In my hack, when you enter a certain map via a map connection, the game simply disables the running shoes. If you leave the map, they work again as well. I still don't understand this. Could it be a map script i'm missing or something? I tried putting a script that sets the flag for running shoes again, but even those don't allow you to use them. Any help would be appreciated.

I am using FireRed as a base.

You've basically got two options to fix this:

Firstly, you can erase all running restrictions with a simple byte change in a hex editor, changing the running system to mimic later gens where you can run anywhere at any time. Your second option is to fix this specific the map while keeping the game's running restrictions. To do this, just go into the Header tab for that map in Advance Map and change the 'show name on entering' to a value that permits running. You can find the values at the top of HackMew's thread. Most people just change the value to 'show village names' since its easy to remember.
