I'm... pretty new at this stuff so I don't really know what this means or why it's happening, can someone explain this to me and tell me how to fix it? It happened when I tried to add a new pokemon species into the file

You typed somewhere "[placeholder]" and the game doesn't know how to deal with it. Just replace it with a vilid entry.
