Hello everyone,
Lately i have discovered this tool made for Gen V Rom hacking that's a bit old since the last time it was updated. It's named Swiss Army Knife and it's very useful, I have made some modifications with Pokemon Black and Pokemon Black 2.
It lets you modify many aspects of the game, here's a complete list:
There aren't any tutorials out there and the wiki for the application is really empty and undone, it would be nice if this thread was used as a way for people to learn how to use it in general.
I'll attach some written tutorials in the future if necessary. If anyone has any questions I'll be open to help.
- An Script Editor to edit various scripts scattered through the ROMs which are ordered by an index number. To know the ID use the zone editor and find the name of the zone pertaining a certain script.
- A Text Editor to modify what NPCs say in text boxes, you can access all of them through container index. In order to know which ID you need to modify certain text you must use the xone editor to find out.
- A Map Editor which isn't 3D or anything, it lets you access all of the maps so you can either import/export their model, permissions, secondary permissions (if the map has it ofc) and building positions.
- A Zone Entities Editor to modify many variables of: interactables, NPCs, Warps, Triggers, Initialization Scripts and Trigger Related variables.
- A Zone Editor to view/modify many variables such as: map flags, the level of the music depending on the season, variables related to the zone, and important info that can be useful for other sections to know (wild enconunter ID, text ID, script ID, etc).
- Wild Pokemon Editor, this one is self-explanatory. You have access to modify the pokemon that appear in either grass, surf and fishing. In order to know what ID you need to modify a encounter's route you must use the zone editor and find out yourself.
- The Trainer Editor works the same as BWTE/BWTE2, the only problem is that you can't search for trainers as easily in BWTE. This is because you can only enter the number of the trainer and not its name if you want to search for a trainer in specific. To facilitate the search export your narc for trdata and trpoke and use BWTE/2 as your guide. If anyone wants to share the list for the number of the trainers in PKMN BW/2 that would be appreciated.
- And lastly a Matrix Editor that doesn't work no matter what I do. But I suppose it's made to edit various matrix, I'm not familiar with matrix.
