Saving in PMD Red?

    I'm using the Visual Boy Advance GBA emulator but I can't get my ROM of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon to save properly. How am I supposed to be rescued or continue after story mode if I can't save?

    My question is, how do I configure the save type so it works, or do I need to do something else?

    I'm aware this should go into the Simple Questions thread, but searching for "save type" doesn't turn up anything and I'm not about to look through 63 pages of replies. If a moderator is going to lock this thread (most likely), could you at least point me to the correct post?
     
    Please read the stickied threads, before creating a new one.

    The FAQ contains a paragraph, about how to fix save problems in VBA.
    It also provides detailed instructions on what settings to change.
