So, I just learned the givepokemon script (thankyouverymuch youtube) and tried it out. But half the time, the person who I apply the script to says something completely different!

Example. I made a little boy in Oak's lab who gives you a Pikachu. I wrote the script, debugged it, double-checked it, and hopped over to Advance Map to apply it to the little boy. Well, when I talk to the kid, it says "It's like an encyclopedia, but the pages are blank." The same text you get when you talk to the Pokédexes in the corner.

How do I fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Check the "Person ID" in AdvanceMap, and make sure it isn't shared between any of the person events in the map. The little boy probably has the same Person ID as one of the pokédexes in the lab, which is why talking to it gets you the pokédex script instead of his own.
