i was about to evolve my scyther but lots of people have been telling me that i might want to consider keeping it unevolved as scyther is possibly better in diamond/pearl. they're both pretty cool appearance-wise, but can i please get some opinions? thx

Scizor has only one type weakness: Fire. But OH, what a weakness it is.

It cannot fly, either and is slower than Scyther but trades its speed for higher attack and defense. It's a decent wall, actually, and it can be a good Baton Passer but there always better if you play the Metagame.

mmm so maybe scyther and scizor are on par with each other... i prefer scyther appearance wise, so i guess ill wont evolve then :P scyther has plenty of attack for me

i took a jolly nature on scizor, which makes him still faster than average, plus a bunch of EVs on speed (and attack).. and with only one (huge) weakness, i'm actually quite happy with it..

by the way; scizor looks better in D/P than in other games..

I was thinking about this myself the other day. Scyther is my favourite Pokémon, so I was planning to use him in my team, but I was unsure about whether or not I should evolve him. But his base attack is high enough on its own, his speed is good and he's immune to ground attacks, so I figured I'd leave him as is.

And a simple Swords Dance can boost Scyther's attack.

either way they both have a 4X weakness to something, Sczior being quad the weak to Fire and Scyther having a quad weakness to rock types. Scizor only has one weakness. Scyther has Fire, Electric, Ice, Rock (X4), Flying. Thats alot
