5th Gen Secret Bases

    Ok, so there is no info on any secret bases. But, do you think they're gonna be in the region? They were in Gen III as above ground (like in certain trees, bushes, cliffsides) and in Gen IV in the underground. Do you think they're gonna make a return? And how do you want them to be? I liked Gen. 3's above ground ones, cus Sinnoh's underground ones were a little... blah. And if they're not above ground, where could they be? As a highlink feature? Undergorund? In an underwater version of the Underground? <--(coolnick37's idea :D)So this is sort of more of a "What do you want" until we get actual info on the secret bases.

    I hope there in there, and they actually do somthing! the Gen 3 bases were pointless. I want to be able to heal my pokemon, or let them out of there ball to play.

    As nice as the heal part sounds, I think that would be a bit too easy. I mean, you could be on your way to a town with low health Poke's and instead of trying to get back to a PC you can just make a secret base right there and heal up. But I really like the idea of having your Pokemon out to play! And a lot more interactive decorations. Maybe being able to design the rooms/shape yourself?
     
    Just a note - for anyone who's wondering, there was a past Secret Bases thread and since it can be extended upon/not covered by the other threads, it has its own thread instead of belonging in the part/features thread.

    Personally, a secret base in the sky would be nice, considering both Zekrom/Reshiram have wings, maybe there is a way you could access higher up places more than in other games through the storyline or something. Then your bases could look like clouds!

    Oww thats some idea stealing austy : underwater, secret bases :P jk
    Anyway I guess there is gonna be some sort of base, because we had them ever since 3rd gen, secret bases in rse, bases in undeground dp, that house stuff in platinum, but since hgss is a remake of gsc they didnt put it in, but I believe GF knows whats good for them ;D
     
    I'm hoping for a continuation of the RSE style, they had something right there.

    With enhanced graphics and some other features (flying to the secret base? If you could only make bases at some chosen locations, that might be possible.), it could really turn out nice. Perhaps you could visit others' bases with the highlink or whatever they call it?

    I would think that bases should have been mentioned by now, if they were there, though.
    But you never know ;D

    I'm sorry about that... I remember seeing it on the other thread and figured I would just repeat it so everyone knows! I'll put your name as a credit for that idea ;) But they do seem like a good possibility. They were in RSE, then out for the FR/LG which were remakes. They were in DPPt then out for HG/SS also remakes. So they should be somewhere in Ishuu... though cloud ones would be awesome!

    I mean that was sort of how it was in Platinum.

    I don't know, I never really understood bases, they just seemed like a gimmick to me. If you could have people like... visit and trade and battle / leave requests to do so at your secret base... that would be cool? I don't know. xD

    In R/S/E emerald when you mixed records the other persons base showed up on your map and you could randomly visit and battle the npc version of them. I think it will be through the high link feature, because that seems a lot like the sinnoh underground. Then maybe you can do more fun stuff with friends in it!

    Haha I feel like I have actually done something worth crediting XD
    Anyhwhays, yeah secret bases should be visitable by your friends like in d/p/pt, but I guess since the high link they might introduce something even more epic :D

    Maybe some of the houses will be empty in the high link so you can sorta take it over as a secret base? Since the High Link seems to be a mirror of the real Ishuu, I wonder if people will be there... if not it would be cool to use their houses as bases.
     
    an underwater version made me instantly think of Bioshock XD
    if they did that, they have to give me the option to name it cuz im so callin it rapture :cer_laugh:

    i hope they have it, but i doubt they will :(
    this is gonna be like gen1 all over, i bet no "national" dex, just a regional & just that regions pokemon, of course we will get the "planetary" dex so we can get 1-492.
     
    I actually really liked the bases in RSE, battling the NPC versions of the character was really cool and the best way of leveling up in the games (If the people had strong teams). I used to make my own Gyms and stuff in the bases, it was awesome :P . I'd love them to return in this form, just bigger and with more room for customisation, such as being able to change the colour of the walls and floor and stuff, and obviously more items to put down :) . The capture-the-flag style minigame was kind of fun in DPPt though, I wouldn't mind if that was in there somewhere too :P .
     
    In RSE, if you mixed records with someone, you could battle their NPC avatar if you discovered their secret base. I don't think this was available in DPPt, but then again the secret bases in Sinnoh were so fail that I never even bothered to make one in my more recent playthroughs. >_>

    I'd actually like a mix between the Trainer House from HGSS and the Secret bases from RSE. It'll be a fun way to grind up BP...assuming that there's even a battle frontier in Isshu. XD
     
    I hope they will be like gen 3 where you can visit your friends base whenever you want, and battle an NPC or themselves if you are connected (via high link?). Because I din't like D/P/Pt bases as much... I liked how RSE's not all bases were same shape and there were more "fun" decorations like a slide. Though I love the idea of making "Gym" bases. When I had my saphire version my friends who had it and me were all like 8, so we never thought of making gyms!

    I hope its the 3rd gen version of the secret base rather than the 4th gen version. The 3rd gen version was a lot better.

    I thought you could decorate your own house and things? That would make a secret base kind of redundant.
