Setting up a Connection

Hey all, I just have a question regarding Wi-Fi.

I'm currently living in a dorm at college, and I've been trying to find out how to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi so I can do some trading and whatnot. Is there a certain method to doing this, or do I need some kind of device to help with it?

The way you word this is slightly ambiguous. Is there already a wireless network at your college, or do you want to set one up? What hardware do you have? PC, Mac, etc.

If there's a wireless network already at the dorm:
    - Go into the Internet options on your DS(i), click on an empty connection slot (if one exists), and hit "Scan for Wireless Networks." If you see the name of the dorm network, and the padlock is blue (or red if you know the password to get into it), click on it, it'll do a connection test, and provided it works, you're ready to go.

If the padlock is gray or there is no network, and you have a computer running Windows 7 with a wireless card:
    - Download Connectify and install it in Windows. Make sure you have an Internet connection.
    - Run the program. Fill out the required information in regards to the wireless network, and then set it up on the DS in the same manner as above.

You could also purchase a wireless base station for use in your room, but that's expensive.
