No, hes a trainer, not a co-ordinator, hopefully he will enter the pokethlon though. (I'm guessing it will appear in the anime at some point)

Probably not. He has to train since he's due to fight Paul again in a 6 v 6 fight at Lake Verity.

Like others have mentioned Ash has already competed in Contests every now and again. Anyway I could never see Ash as a full time co-ordinator it just simply doesn't suit him.
