Later on in the in the show (Japan is farther ahead in episodes, so we can get sneak previews), Dawn's mother sends her new clothes, which happen to be her Platinum outfit, for when she goes to Snowpoint City. She also sends Ash and Brock new clothes. They get the jackets pictured here.

They only wear them for about the four episodes while they're in Snowpoint City, though.

Maybe Dawn's mother should of gotten Ash and Brock, different colored jackets. I still find it weird that Dawn is walking around with a skirt on still when theres snow on the ground

I'd also hazard a guess at saying that the art wasn't particularly brilliant in that episode. Some are much better than others. =/

No, because Dawn and the female playable character are two different characters. The anime oftentimes deviates from the games, you know.

Maybe in the fifth generation, her Platinum outfit will be in the anime, like May's Cameo in "Our Cup Runneth Over".
