What is the deal with all these people putting "Claimed" and then listing pokemon they have claimed? Yes, i know, i am a noob.

Could someone also tell me what STAB stands for?

Pokemon that are claimed by people:
People around the Community usually claim their Favorite Pokemon in a Certain Thread but im too lazy to post the link.

STAB:
STAB Stands for Self Type Attack Boost, It's a condition in Pokemon of Pokemon games that Activates When The Pokemon Uses a move of it's own type. It multiplies attack power by 1.5. Very useful when you are trying to KO a team of a certain type, for example. If You want to beat a Fire type team, You would use a water team, So in addition of Super effectivness (x2) and a Water Power up like sea incense (x1.5) and STAB which is in every pokemon(x1.5) you can gurantee 100% that you'll beat the team in the same hits as pokemon

You pretty much got it but it's Same Type Attack Bonus.
