Hey, I am new on the forums, but a long time Pokemon player. but, I keep have a very annoying problem with the Silver version. When I turn on the game, the "COntinue your saved data" option is not there. Instead I am forced to start a new game. And when I start a new game and save it, the next time I play, i am forced to start a New Game again. It is very annoying.

    Has anyone had these problems?

Is there a solution to them?

Please dont tell me my Silver verison is broke, IT IS MY FAVORITE VERSION!!!

Your internal battery must have run dry. You'll have to take the cartridge apart ( :( ) and replace it. They should sell the batteries at a watchfixer's place, I think it's those kind of batteries.

How do I take it apart?(Im assuming you would just unscrew the little thing there...) And what does the internal battery look like?

Judging by looking through my Crystal Cartridge, It's round silver and circular, very much like a watch battery. The battery should say on it what model it is.

If I brought the game out to a watch makers store, do you think they would fix it?

You can't fix it, theres a battery and it has run dry, so I think you can't fix it unless you put a new battery

Ok I phoned a local Watch store and they said, they have the battery, but can not install it.(thats what I meant by "fixing" it.)

So I will have to install the battery myself, which I dont want to cuss I dont own a smoldering tip, have no idea what it is, and i dont think I will be able to work it...:(

However, I will do anything to get my silver up and running again!

I think you mean soldering iron which is a really hot device used to melt solder.

If you know someone capable of electronics (such as a neighbour or teacher at school, even a computer shop) they might be able to do it for you.

No, I think that would be dangerous to use something hot like that to a video game by the miro chips and so on... Use a smoldering tip or some tool that can get rid of the batterie off. I done this before and had no problems with my gold and silver versions.

No Soldering irons apply heat to a very local area and its not relatively hot- it produces a bit of heat on a specific area. It will melt the area off, but it wont be hot as to the point where metal will drip- it will just loosen up.
Soldering irons are safe if you know what you're doing.

Yes a soldering iron is perfectly safe if you know what your at. However, I do not own one, and never apperated one, so it might be a big mistake for me to try it out.

I'm gunna bring it to a few local electronic repair shops, and see what they can do with it :D.

Um... Soldering irons are exactly what are used with electronics. It takes a bit of effort to even ruin something on purpose with one.

I feel your pain brother... I had 200hrs+ and a full Pokedex when this happened to me.

I hope you can fix it.
