Hi all, I was looking through someones thread when I came across a move i had long forgotten about; flail. Ive bin meaning to try out slaking and i just found out it can learn it so im gonna try the following out:
    Slaking@Focus band
    Adamant
    252 Att/252 Spd/4HP
    Flail
    Return
    Yawn
    Slack off

Sort of sweeper, I plan on yawning, taking a hit with the sash then flailing the sleeping enemy.

This is a quickly thought up set, thoughts please

You're really chancing your luck if you have Focus Band. Its not that reliable. I'd just switch to Leftovers.

I'd like to see more attacking moves. Also, Flail and Return are both Normal type moves! I thought you knew better on this stuff. Never have two of the same element moves on one pokemon.

Fair points, now the reasoning behind the madnes :)
*Focus band is there to allow for a max strength flail.
    Flail+160 Base Att+STAB+1 HP= Ouch
*I completely agree with the two-of-same-type situation. I realised straight after posting. However I need return for while I have high HP as flail is useless at this point. Should i change yawn or slack off?

Do you mean SASH? Focus SASH?

Salck off is prettyy useless...I mean, really...just go eith the scarf or CB set, they're much better.

Yes focus sash, sorry its been a long day lol. Ah well looks like this idea's gone down the drain now, it was a nice thought but not very realistic. Mods if you read this close away. Thanx all :)

that would be really good but slaking's stats are meant to take several hits, not just 1

but doesn't slaking have a fairly high defense/HP stat? I haven't seen a slaking go down yet in 1 move from a non super-effective hit, so the Focus Sash would be pointless. Perhaps change Slack off with Skill Swap, it is helpfull when up against a physical sweeper, as the opponent will usually change when faced with traunt, and if they don't, all the better for you anyway!

    Slaking@Leftovers/Liechi Berry/Salac Berry
    Adamant

252 Atk, 152 Speed, 106 HP - (Unsure on the Speed/HP set up, depends on the use of substitute.)

    Skill Swap
    Earthquake
Flail/Return - one or the other, not both.
Yawn/Substitute - Substitute can help with the usage of skill swap, although can also be used with yawn.

65 base SDef? No...I mean, its HP is great and all, but slaking ISN'T a wall. Traunt prevents it from really being able to absorb anything, except shadow ball.

Slack Off is a waste on a Pokemon who only gets to attack once every two turns.

I plan on yawning, taking a hit with the sash then flailing the sleeping enemy.

Chances are, if you're sleeping against a Slaking, won't you want to switch? (Unless you've got a resistance). And speaking of resistance, your set has nothing to defend against ghosts (read: Pursuit) and Steels/Rocks who resist Flail and Return.

Slaking's only goal is to hit hard and fast whenever it is allowed to attack. Its suited for a CB or Scarf set.
