Here is where you can discuss the grand finale of the Tag Team three-parter in "Smells Like Team Spirit."

    My review to come forthwith.

Hooray, Chimchar's switched over to the good team. Of course, with their usually impeccable timing, Team Rocket FINALLY makes an attack.

Jessie: "Join us in the next 60 minutes, Chimchar, and get your own stanza in the Team Rocket motto!"

I didn't know they were into telemarketing like that, heh.

Now we get the team fighting against each other, starting with Ash vs Brock...oh, and the two others, of course :P. Ah this brings back memories...Anyway, the battle was actually pretty good for the matchup, and might have gone either way...if not for Torterra's strength. That was just a little too short...

And the girl leaves. Heh, poor Brock...

...Heh, both Dawn and Conway used the same toss animation...

Dawn & Conway were matching Ash & Paul move-for-move for a bit there...until Electabuzz evolved and they both got knocked out at once, leaving Ash & Paul to win the whole thing. I doubt Paul's going to do a single thing about his new Soothe Bell, though. He'll probably just toss it out somewhere. Nope, even better.

...What I don't think I get is why in the world Team Rocket was acting the way they were. And the way Conway acted near the end...hmm........he knows something that they don't~!

I really likes this episode, and that line was great. I am glad to see that Chimchar did so well and it was exciting to see Elekid evolve.

Yeah, I thought he'd throw it out in the end. It's a Friendship item, so why does he need it? Heh.

As for the Rockets, well, they already blasted off, so I'm guessing leave it on a high note? I think their attitude was based from the similar ish "Charizard's Burning Ambition(s)." Praise the downed Fire type? That's what I think, anyway.

As for Conway, maybe he's an agent of Team Galactic! heh. After all, Veilstone is Galactic's home base, yes?

    Exactly!

Already blasting off hasn't prevented them from coming back before, has it?

...Maybe we'll have Ash fighting him in a full battle? XD

No, but they either do it multiple times (early Hoenn) or the happier ending (which has been happening a lot, lately). Beyond the awesome beginning of the episode with the sneak attack, the Rockets were just there, anyway. As was their role in the whole three-parter, to be honest. Heh.

Chances are, Ash and Paul might battle in the Sinnoh League. If Ash fought Gary in the Johto version, and since Sinnoh is becoming more and more Johto-esque, there you go.

Does anyone think that someone from Seattle might be slightly annoyed at the title? The grunge rock group Nirvana had a chart topper called "Smells Like Teen Spirit", and since Seattle was (or is) the capital of grunge rock, and...

Actually, because of NOA's HQ location, this (the title) might be a tribute to Nirvana or grunge rock in general. But that's just me. Don't hold a .357 to my head for me coming out of left field, but I needed it out of my system. I'm not the other one on this server, I know it.

Glad Chimchar got a good trainer but I think Paul with catch another fire Pokemon to replace Chimchar.

Paul begin a Team Galaxy members would be sweet! That would be the reason why he is so strong.

Indeed, they were just kind of extra, as they usually are in the big competitions they aren't in...

No, no, no, I was talking about Conway.

I agree Sinnoh is like the new johto. i like it this series cuz this time Ash really need to train his pokemon hard so he can beat paul. paul is turning to be like silver with his bad-ass-tude.

I'm fairly offended by the title myself but a puns a pun and as far as puns go its a good pun

Well, Ash finally his his Fire Type and its Pauls Chimchar! Ironic no? XD I think the reason Ash choose Chimchar for the final was to prove to Paul how strong Chimchar can be with a good trainer as his role model. OMG! Dawn...was....awesome!!!! She was great in this battle! With Buizel! Too bad the trade episode is getting close but it would look better with Ash through, but a great battle Hikari!! Heracross was a real surprize, I wish Ash could have mentioned his Heracross back in Kanto but oh well. Elekid evolving was a even bigger shock lol. Chimchar rocked in this battle!! I'm soo glad Ash his it now, that proved Paul wrong in his ingnorance. As Conway said, the most unlikely team up ended up winning the tag battle. Paul dont need that Soothe Bell, so Ash is better off with it. I can tell Ash and Chimchar is going to get even stronger together. Fantastic 10/10 episode!

I guess I'll discuss it here. Look at Conway's character design to that of the Super Nerd -- pretty dead on, yes?

Mr.Valkyrie, yes, I've discussed on the title in the Dub Episode Title thread at length. So, we'll never speak of it, again. And Kurt Cobain will continue to haunt me (goes into EMO mode).

I'm glad chimchar is on ash's team now instead of that pathetic trainer Paul's team.
I also was hoping Brock would win the tournament, but I guess not. :)

I'm watching it right now. I usually don't watch DP, but I would've never thought that Ash would get Paul's Chimchar.

    Chimchar's such a cutie!!!

I restarted my game just to get a Chimchar starter-_-

This sound like a Nirvana Song or it's me only?? XD.

The 3 episode special was awsome!

    "Smells Like Team Spirit"
I have to say Dawn is getting more knowledgable during the tournament especially with Conway,he supported her all the way!
I felt bad for Chimchar, they even added music to it!:'(
Paul didn't even recover it,he just let it go!
What the Hell is wrong with him,at least Chimchar is happy now.

"you're both pathetic!" heartless, that did made me smile a bit though....
Ash and Chimchar already seemed so close when they one,and even ignored Paul's comment!
Paul threw his soothe bell at Ash,wow he must hate him.

The Special was awsom and i can't wait for more!

It is actually. Good observation, it's one of my favorites, but that's aside the point.

Alright, since I saw this before in Japanese I gotta say I loved seeing this episode again. Chimchar I'm gonna say again I'm happy is with Ash.

Other than his clothing... yes, he is definitely based off one. Super Nerds in the game are usually portrayed as creepy, and Conway is no different. XD

Yeah, but I think Dawn did like Conway. Also, though he was creepy, he was a great trainer. I really do like his charecter.
