Well I did it with Pokemon Emerald, but it does not really matter what you do, it can be a little different.
Play with a game-catridge you can waste for this and save it, or use a emulator ROM.
Please Remember folks... DO NOT CHEATS!
Choose who is your favorite starter.
Once you got that in your head.
Get a PokeGame.
Start a new game. Enter your name and possibly (in FireRed, Yellow, Crystal, etc.) the kid you hate's name.
Then choose a starter.
THAT WILL BE YOUR ONLY POKEMON! YOU PLAY THE GAME WITH ONLY THAT STARTER!
When you get any items, (except for Rare Candies, or steriod stat increasing objects) use it on your only Pokemon.
Then use all your money and then go to the Department store of that game, and buy as much stat increasing items as you can and then you should aim to get the PERFECT BUFF STARTER POKEMON!
