Hey guys, basically I've posted this to alert you to the changes taking place and to ask for your feedback on said changes.

Firstly, Contests You may of noticed there's not being one for a while and the last one was never judged. Mainly because the person who was going to do September got banned and my guy for October quit PC, which is a shame but what can you do hey? Anyway, great news, they'll be returning in November, from now on they'll take place in the Competitions sub forum. I'll host Novemeber's so we deffinately have one, but the old system will return by December, PM me with your details and a Theme, a structured set of restrictions (if any) and other judges (If you are having more than the standard one judge. However it would have to go 1, 3, 5. It can't be even numbers.) And I'll get back to you with an answer asap.

Secondly Criticism It's apparent to me and a few others that a lot of you have little grasp over this rule, so I'm re-writing it. You'll still have to be elaborate with your post, but not as in depth as what we've demanded before. A post like "Wow that's awesome" is still going to push you closer to infractions, but something along the lines of "Wow, awesome work, love the colours and shading" will suffice. You don't need to write a full review, just a sentence or two about what you do (& don't) like about the work. (Of course I'm still going to be encouraging lengthy critiques)

Thirdly Rom Hackers It's no secret that one of the biggest problems in this section is ROM hackers who come here solely to get people to work on their hacks, happily ignoring and breaking rules as they do it. Don't We have a PM/VM system you can use, use it. Pixel Art isn't your dumping ground guys, it's our section for our hobby and you coming here to capatalise has a really negative effect on us. I'm not saying all ROM hackers are like this, but it is a majority, not a minority, of them who do it.

Fourthly Requests This somewhat leads on from the ROM hacking point, requests. Request shops and the what are still prohibited, but I'm thinking of creating and stickying a Request thread where people can post a request and await an answer. I'm in two minds on this one at the moment, and your feedback is essential in my choice.

On another note some of you would of noticed that Amachi, the resident mod of Pixel Art (and Pixel Projects) has left his mod position, which now means I'm the sole mod here (And pixel Projects) So instead of having to PM both of us over projects, contests etc, you now only have to PM me.

I look forward to your feedback guys and thanks for the time.

That's nice to know the contests will be back up in November. Little bit of a wait but it should be worth it. I would've underlined how to give the cc if I was you Matt but that's just me. Oh yes the rom hacker problem, It really does steam me to see them just spamming up threads though not all rom hackers are like this (me). I dont see why they cant just use vm or pm, instead they spam the PA. A request thread might help take out the spam but most people dont do requests.

    Thanks for the update Matt.

[jq]Firstly, Contests You may of noticed there's not being one for a while and the last one was never judged.[/jq]

Dude, you can't believe how sorry I am about this. I had everything read, I just forgot to post the thread :/

[jq]I'll host Novemeber's so we deffinately have one, but the old system will return by December, PM me with your details and a Theme, a structured set of restrictions (if any) and other judges (If you are having more than the standard one judge. Nice, I like the new judging structure. I'm pretty sure it's odd numbers so that you can have an even vote, right? So, that you're not tied between two opinions, rather you have an at least two to one vote on it.

[jq]Thirdly Rom Hackers It's no secret that one of the biggest problems in this section is ROM hackers who come here solely to get people to work on their hacks, happily ignoring and breaking rules as they do it. Don't We have a PM/VM system you can use, use it. Pixel Art isn't your dumping ground guys, it's our section for our hobby and you coming here to capatalise has a really negative effect on us. I'm not saying all ROM hackers are like this, but it is a majority, not a minority, of them who do it.[/jq]

I really hate this too, not only does it spam PA, but it also puts a bad reputation on my side of the forum. I feel really strongly against what is happening at the moment. Seriously, if it gets any worse we need to sort things out. We'll have to sort things over and maybe get some announcements, and stickies, over both forums. Yes, it is a majority and they all know who they are o:<.

[jq]Fourthly Requests This somewhat leads on from the ROM hacking point, requests. Request shops and the what are still prohibited, but I'm thinking of creating and stickying a Request thread where people can post a request and await an answer. I'm in two minds on this one at the moment, and your feedback is essential in my choice.[/jq]

Leading on from the above I think, once again, so so sorry dude.

[jq]On another note some of you would of noticed that Amachi, the resident mod of Pixel Art (and Pixel Projects) has left his mod position, which now means I'm the sole mod here (And pixel Projects) So instead of having to PM both of us over projects, contests etc, you now only have to PM me.[/jq]

    ):

    All 4ubb.

I'd like to add something to the PM/VMing requests thing: ask nicely and preferably not in a noob-ish fashion. :\ Use proper grammar, and put a little bit of time into your request. I mean, if you expect us to make you something, you could at least send us something that you took longer than 15 seconds to type up.

For example, this is a request I got in a PM:
    an actual member said:
Can You make Arceus recolour icon?
And I didn't do it, simply because of the way it was asked. If they had explained what exactly they wanted, and asked more nicely, I might have done it. I mean, yeah, it's a recolor and any idiot can do it, but still. You could also explain how you'll be using it, or something.

I vote yes on the request thread, btw. I don't foresee any problems, and it if doesn't work out well, then... locky-locky.

On another note some of you would of noticed that Amachi, the resident mod of Pixel Art (and Pixel Projects) has left his mod position, which now means I'm the sole mod here (And pixel Projects) So instead of having to PM both of us over projects, contests etc, you now only have to PM me.
Well, I can't say I blame you, Ray. Though you probably can't read this from your padded cell, and your mind is probably too far gone from the horrible things you've seen here to comprehend it if you could.

Good luck, Matt. May god have mercy on your soul.

Seems good to me. I personally never took place in them, but to me it looks like PA has died recently, so maybe this will draw some members back.

Thank the higher beings.I've been strugling to find anything meaningful to say to some of the more expirienced members. This should make it easier for those who aren't very good at articualting themselves.

It's about time someone told them off... Thank you Fox♠

Meh, a requests thread would be good. Though I sugest that with in the requests thread, the person doing the thread is aloud to drop the request w/ a notification, and that the requester not get too pissy.

Thanks for the feed back chaps, I'm gonna implement the new elaboration rule update in a moment, however I'm still in two minds over the request thread.
