I've been hearing that 4Kids told the Japanese writers to tone done on the typical anime stuff (Japanese culture and such). Is this true, and if so, is there any actual proof to confirm this?

I think so.. I've heard that before, but I'm not sure. If you've watched the first season, most fillers were about some festival, now we don't see those anymore o-op

Yeah, I hear a lot of bad things about 4Kids, some true, some not, but as said before, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it true. I mean, I don't see why the Japanese would have to agree. What, would 4Kids pull out and not want to buy their show anymore? That's just stupid; that wouldn't stop them from buying their show. I just don't see what power they have over them. It's a gray area I've always been a bit confused about.

It would appear so seeing as the closest to Japanese cultural things you see in the show are Chiirin (based off of a Japanese windchime) and onigiri (riceballs).

I've noticed alot more American foods are floating about like burgers and hotdogs. -_-; Barely any Japanese puns or jokes, either (IIRC, Harley going nuts over how Haruka speaks improperly is the last time that was done..the whole ending sentences with kamo is what I'm refering to).
