(I'm writing this via phone so sorry if the formatting is god awful)
So for awhile been ive been theorising and trying to see if anyone has made an sos like feature for battles. (Closest is a repeat encounter version). For starters im using 16.2 and EBS of that changes much.
Anyway i know having a 1vs1 become a 1v2 requires a whole system rewrite or adding a new system so im avoiding that.
What id realistically want to happen is a percentage (either global or species based (maybe based on rarity value) would be a base say 10% (if global) then at low health (and no teammate) it increases to 30% then if an item (like the adrenaline orb) is used it doubles (so 60% in our global example) and after each turn that chance is ran for them to "call" and a global (no matter if we go global or species/rarity based) chance for one to be called is checked (say with either rand or a variable/value).
In my mind the best way to do this is that to not need a complete rewrite its only in double battles (or in double battle only encounter methods). How theyd be called eould maybe be like the pokemon after dying and is successfully "called" is A) revived or brought back the sameway B) reset (so movepool, shininess, stats etc.) and revived C) changes the fainted pokemon into the calling species reset and revived or D) like C but changes the species to another species in that encounter type.
Not sure 100% how possible it is so might aswell through it out there ^^
