    hey all
I'm playing fire red through an emulator in the computer.
the previous games I played (Blue, Gold) when I hit the space button the game was speeding up rapidly. but now when I play Fire Ref it only speeds up a little bit.
is there anything I can do to speed the game up when I push space?
    thanks

This should go in emulation sections.

Now you can skip the frames or put turbo on.

Make the Emulator window smaller can also help. On GBC games the screen size is small because it has a picture. Thats why it goes so fast when you hit space.

Zanacross is right, it should go in the Emulation Section. As for your question, I would listen to Zanacross again, I think it has something do with your Text Speed. You enable something with that.. 0_o Well, I did it once, but I don't know how. x.x

Its not text speed its the frame speed and the screen size just try that and im sure it will be fine

    Tell me if it worked.

    Thought so.

I cant test it out myself because it runs to slow on this pc and to fast on my other one.

I made the screen smaller, I changed the frame skipping but nothin, still the fastest it'll go is 147%...
    ??

I Know in RBY GSC it goes to about 400% but in FRLG RSE 147& is about the fastest it goes

The older the ROM (as in release) the faster it will go.

R/B/Y will go at about 2000%
    G/S/C will go between 1000-2000%
    R/S/E will go around 400%
LG/FR vary alot, depending on your computer. they go at 300% for me.

Well with everything turned on (I never turn anything down or off, you'll probably see why) RBY runs at around 6000%, GSC runs at 3200% plus, RSE go between 460-520% and FR/LG went about 255-66. 266% was the highest I achieved in FR/LG , that was the same with sound off, frames skip and on max and etc as it was with everything turned in and no frameskip. just stuck on 266, didn't even alter the slightest, so turning all that stuff off made absolutely no difference on my PC. Another odd thing I found was that in Gold with sound off I can get mid 3000's, but in crystal with sound off it soars up to 6666%. Seems some ROM's have "speed limits", he he. Oh and increasing RAM would help in the slightest unless you have less the 256 Meg. If you do your entire computer is likely to be pretty dated.

Ram does affect the speed of the game.
If you have poor ram you have a poor game.
My old pc had crap ram.
Didnt play anything at a resonable speed.
