I've been seeing a bunch of pretty cool challenges to try and make playing through the Pokemon games as enjoyable as possible, including Monotype Challenge and Solo Run.
Personally though, something I've done since RBY to make run-throughs less boring was to attempt something called speedrunning. The goal is to "beat" the game as quickly as possible, obviously with certain rules. In the case of HeartGold/Soulsilver, the definition of "beat" means defeating Red.
I'm wondering how many people out there would be interested in partaking in a speedrun challenge? Rules are quite simple, basically you are confined to what is possible within your game and that alone; this means no trading, no cheating (AR/glitch abuse/bug abuse/RNG all count as cheating), and no migrating Pokemon/items from another game.
