    HELP!!! lol
    I'm trying to replace the hero in a rom hack of Fire Red I'm making for my wife. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
    Opened original Hero photo in GIMP 2.8
    Opened Replacement in paint.net with white background
    Use dropped tool in Gimp for everything BUT the background.
    Exported bmp
    Tried opening old photo with new colours in paint.NET
    Copy pasta new photo and changed background but it fills in the characters neck and knees

    If that doesn't help there are other tutorials that could work for you.
    You can't just replace the sprite, you have to index it, etc,etc. The tutorial explains everything

    I'm building a Fire Red original with specifications that would make my wife's perfect Pokemon game. Spent nearly a week on story alone and haven't even finished. Just want to tinker a bit to break it up some. I'm hoping to use Dawn sprites for the main character, use sprites from every gen (not every Pokemon just replace the ones she doesn't like (zubat, ratatta, weedle, ect) and put in something more fun like legendaries and what not. Going to break the whole map down and rebuild the region custom to the story.
    So I have script and event editing I'll need to do as well. I'm very excited cause I will be making a sequel to tie it all together and fill in any unanswered questions. That one I'll probably release here for fun :)
    Anyway, long rant but that's what I'm working towards. This will be my very first.
