    [PokeCommunity.com] Star Wars Rebels

Recently I've fallen so far in love with Star Wars again - much further than ever before! It started just before The Force Awakens came out and I've been so enthralled in how big the world is! I marathon'd all of The Clone Wars and Rebels first two seasons and I was so damn invested, I couldn't wait til Season 3. I've even expanded my horizons to the comics and I've picked up a fair few so far! It makes me kinda sad that the EU is non-canon now but some of it was beyond ridiculous - I'm getting of topic here so I'm gonna drop it for another time haha! Has anyone been keeping up with the adventures of the Ghost Crew? With Season 3 underway now what are you thinking with the developments so far? Which characters are standing out to you? Who's your favourite? Discuss it with me fellow Star Wars nerds! Please, I really need it aha.

You rang? I've also marathoned the show, the first season and part of the second before I was caught up and now I'm doing the slow watch, each week. (So spoiled by netflix now).

It's a pretty good show. On par with The Clone Wars, I think. I like that it feels like Star Wars, with the fun and adventure and occasional humor. Didn't like Ezra at first, but he grew on me. Give me more of Zeb and Chopper bickering and I'll be happy.

Personally, I'm not sad that the EU got nerfed from official cannon in advance of Episode VII. It was a mess, really. Their trying to use Rebels to more closely tie together The Clone Wars / Episode III / Episode IV together is, well, it's fine, I guess. Gotta accept that the mess of Episode III is canon. But their bringing Thrawn in and some of the other immigrants from the EU feels like they're just rehashing that material and I'd rather they were just forgotten and replaced by something new because now they've got to "do justice" to these EU characters, give them importance and screen time, or the fans will be annoyed that they were included and then changed too much.

    You rang?

    GOD BLESS YOU.

On par with The Clone Wars, I think. I like that it feels like Star Wars, with the fun and adventure and occasional humor.

I see where you're coming from but I think I still prefer the Clone Wars cause it had a more varied cast! I liked there being arcs of a few episodes about the clones, then an adventure Anakin and Ahsoka were up to and then Mace Windu's exploits. I love the Ghost Crew and some episodes in particular are great - the S2 finale (especially the first half) gave me chills I was so excited!

Didn't like Ezra at first, but he grew on me. Give me more of Zeb and Chopper bickering and I'll be happy.

I am the exact same - Ezra was kinda like Ahsoka for me where his kiddish-ness (if that's even a word) kinda got on my nerves and was really frustrating! It was cool seeing their character development though so it was worth it! Zeb seems more and more like a secondary character now and that makes me sad - I find him hilarious! His squabbles with Ezra early on in particular were great!! The episode with him and Kallus working together was really well done and I liked the tie in with that in the latest episode a lot too!

I'm not sad that the EU got nerfed from official cannon in advance of Episode VII. It was a mess, really.

I completely get this point of view and I haven't read a lot of the EU personally I just think there was some really, really cool stuff that was scrapped - particularly the Old Republic era. I just thought that was awesome with Revan, Bane etc. There are lots of things I wasn't a fan of too though like Sidious not dying at the end of RotJ! With Thrawn coming back though it seems like they're gonna cherry pick the best of Legends which is awesome, it's just a matter of time til the best stuff is back really!
