4th Gen staraptor or pideot?

i dont know who do i prefer to train on my new Pearl game..

I'd choose Staraptor. It's pre-evolved form can be commonly found in the wild AND Staraptor can learn Close Combat to deal with the Ice types it is weak to.

on top of that unless you are using an action replay or another cheating device you arent getting pidgey pidgeotto or pidgeot anytime soon
