4th Gen Storm Drain question

    Say I'm in a double battle with a Gastrodon with the ability Storm Drain on my team. Of course, if the opponent uses Hydro Pump or something, it hits Gastrodon no matter what. But if the opponent uses Surf, does the Gastrodon soak up all of the Surf, or do all the pokemon get hit regardless since Gastrodon is still technically being hit by the move?
