Strange Coincidence?

    One thing I noticed has been happening over the last 2 days involving the Buddy System and the nearby list/spawning Pokémon.


    This has actually happened 4 times in the last 2 days. But when I have a Pokémon about to find a candy, 0.5km away, said Pokémon appears on my nearby list and then 3/4 times spawned.


    The first time was Abra, I had just walked though a part of my town and by the time I came back a second time, Abra was close to finding a candy, an Abra appeared on the nearby tracker and spawned.


    Then a little later I had Bulbasaur about to find a candy, an Ivysaur appeared on my nearby and spawned.


    After that Meowth appeared on my tracker shortly before the buddy one was to find a candy, I wasn't able to have it spawn though.


    Today at work I had Meowth as my buddy still and right before it was to find another candy another one spawned.


    It might be a coincidence, but 4 times is kind of crazy to be a coincidence. What if you have a higher chance to find a certain Pokémon if said Pokémon or an evolution of it is your buddy and it's only increased when it's about to find a candy, like maybe 0.5km away. Though it may not appear at all. Has this happened to anyone else?
     
    i think it could be something too. my experience is not the same as yours but i hatched some pokemons that i was buddy-walking at the time. the first pokemon i walked with was vuplix, and i was hatching vulpix left and right. i didnt think much of it at the time. the next buddy was eggsecute and the next hatched egg was eggscute. thats when i was like ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and started walking a snorlax, and what do you know? i hatched a snorlax! however, it hasnt happened again since. haha
     
    Coincidence. Your buddy is quite often somewhere between 0,5 kilometers to find a candy and finding a candy. Its not rare at all.

    On a completely different note, have you noticed that when you roll a six-sided die, you get a 5 or 6 really rather frequently? When you just roll a dice a few times a day, its basically like a daily occurance, thats how frequent it is. Amazing.
     
    Come to think of it, I saw and caught several Clefairy and Zubat when I had them as my buddies. I think it's just coincidence though, and I've seen them fairly commonly.
     
    The real question is why on earth do you have Meowth as your buddy?
