    I feel really stupid asking this question because you all clearly know what they are....but could someone please tell me what a shiny pokemon is? I just really got into the whole Pokemon thing hardcore when D/P came out so don't be mean!
     
    a shiny pokemon is basically a really rare version of a pokemon. chances are like 1/8000 of a chance of finding them in the wild, they typically have a differnet color set then its origaanl form, although being shiny doesnt affect its abilites. +the question was not at all stupid, in fact i was quite bewildered myself when i found out about them.
     
    thanks alot that helped me cuz i was like WTF is a shiny but everyone on here talk about them like i should know! I've never even heard of them anywheres b4.
     
    actually the chances are 1/8192 battles, you'll get a shiny.
