Subscribing to Threads...

Is there a reason whenever I post in a thread, I automatically subscribe to it? Is there a way to prevent that, as it is kinda annoying and I gave up trying to mark the threads I actually wanna keep track of, as the others just spam the list >.<

Default Thread Subscription Mode
When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.
